The Tilted Skillet, Washington MO

Great food, and service! Best fries I've ever had. My daughter says "best mac& cheese".

The food is superb! Also had a little mishap in dropping 1 of my 3 raviolis and Julia was so kind about it when asked for a replacement. She and the cooks hooked us up! Will be back again and again

My steak was good but it wasn't hot, like it sat around for a little bit before they brought it out. I would of complained but it was my dad's birthday and didn't want to make a scene!

The service was great! Nice atmosphere. The appetizers were great. I had the ghost burger which was not too spicy and my wife had the country fried chicken. We shared a dessert that was really good! We are going back again to try other menu items.

Randomly went here in the middle of a trip. VERY pleasantly surprised by how good their food was. I had their lunch special which was a pulled pork and brisquit sandwhich with mac and cheese side. It was all very good, but the even more surprising, was it was actually enough food for me. I usually always want more of a lunch but this was large portioned too.

Food was excellent and large portions. Waitress was very friendly, checked to make sure I was good and offered suggestions of her favorites.

Fantastic. Largest selection of excellent whiskey I have seen in middle MO. Excellent selection for anywhere. They have bottles of Whistle Pig that are exclusive and only available to select venues. The food was good. The shrimp appetizer was tender and lightly smoked and with Large shrimp. The green goddess dressing was fresh made and so good. The brisket was tasty with a few burnt crispy ends. Fantastic.

My second visit and the Tilted Skillet did not disappoint! The Walleye was excellent, their twisted fries are to die for. The only problem I have with this place is that the entire menu looks great (including the pizza)! I want to give everything a try! We did have to wait 20 minutes for a table on a Wednesday night when we could clearly see empty tables, but I’m sure this was due to a staff shortage like everywhere else. Our waiter was trying hard, but he was not very attentive and mixed up a lot of things, but that’s not a deal breaker, as the food makes up for it!

My wife and I were in town for a few days for a little getaway, Googled restaurants and this one came up, it was wonderful! We were seated right away, our server, Molly was so pleasant and knowledgeable, food was excellent. A good spend of our money. Atmosphere of a cafe' in an old building streetside was charming. Thank you Tilted Skillet!

We had a reservation for 11 people at 6: 00pm. Weren't seated until 7: 00. What is the point of making a reservation? Food was delicious and server was awesome.

Everything we ate was amazing - from the spinach and artichoke dip + naan bread, to the salad (all their dressings are made in-house), to the scrumptious scalloped potatoes (with gravy!) and the entree. The fried walleye fish is cooked to perfection. The fish was so flavorful, tender and juicy that it would break apart when dipped in the tartar sauce (not a bad problem to have!). 10/10 would eat here again on my next Washington trip!

My mother and I ate there last Saturday and the food was great this time plus the server was excellent.

If you are coming to Washington you have check this place out. The food is amazing. If you are wings and pizza or fancy fish/steak meal they have both. They also have a great selection of beer and drinks. If you like ranch I would suggest trying it because it is awesome.

I got the house burger and it was delicious! It has an onion jam, fried egg, and twisted fries. Great atmosphere. The place is always packed, that tells you something!

Update: See response from Owner. Perfect example of why not to give this place your business. Never once did I cuss at any of your employees or the manager (which I’m pretty sure was the owner) that night. The owner has to fabricate lies to cover up his unprofessional behavior towards customers! Pathetic!

Please don’t give this restaurant your business! Terrible customer service and owner is extremely unprofessional and rude! Food is terribly over priced for the quality as well.

Tonight my wife and I finally got a chance at a date night. I wanted to try this place since I couldn't seem to get them on the phone to order carryout the previous week. I figured it was just a fluke. We arrived and were told a table for 2 would be "25 minutes at the most. " About an hour later we were watching people arrive and be seated in minutes. I get that they may have had reservations but I would expect that the staff should have known if that were the case and not quoted 25 minutes. We didn't get to eat before we had to pick up our daughter from the sitter. I can't recall the last time we got to go out and I regret giving this place my time. I felt completely disrespected. I see from my call log that I was on hold for 6 minutes when I tried to order carryout before concluding they were too busy. It seems like this is just how they are. There are several really nice locally owned restaurants in this town and had I gone to any of them I know I would have had a nice date night with my wife. I can see that the Tilted Skillet has no shortage of customers and it looks like they have good food that we will never get to taste; but if you are looking for a place for your date night you might want to look elsewhere.
