It can be so hard to find a good stylist for curly hair but Destiny killed it styling my partner’s hair with a two strand twist!

I just had my first session with Emelyn and they were amazing! They gave me wonderful recommendations for how to take care of my hair properly, and I really appreciated how they took the time to discuss what I wanted from my hair. I'm very happy with the results, and I'll definitely be back:)

This salon has legit changed our lives. I am a mom with 5 kids so I’ll be honest Bridget welcomed us into the greatest salon and the owner is a GEM! ALL of the talent happening in here and how they are treating people and make you feel happy and good - it’s unreal anya’s This salon is VERY good. It’s impressive to see the beauty in the people and the skills they have.

Jamie cares SO much about her work and how her clients feel. She brought my shy daughter out of her shell and got her excited and is SO creative with her work. She is detail oriented and is awesome with everything from color to cuts she’s you’re girl. She’s my girls girl and we can’t thank her enough for doing Seraphina’s hair today! She works so well with children it is unreal! If you have a child who wants someone to actually talk with them, be SO gentle and kind she is your person! She did the greatest job working with my daughter who is 9! She is SO talented and patient. Jamie makes dreams possible for kids and adults alike. She’s mega talented with a smile that brings your soul instant comfort.

Sahara is very positive and upbeat as well as talented and listens - she’s extremely kind! She will listen to you and her highlights as well as her colors are incredible- she is compassionate- loving and upbeat but she’s also extremely talented and is SO caring - you will feel excited and at home with Sahara. I assure you you’re in great hands with her and she’s just awesome!

Bridget is SO talented - her highlights for my long curly hair and my older daughter were beyond my expectations I love my hair for the first time in years and her shampoo and massage is a treat, she is SO amazing. Thank you Bridget for your hard work and I can’t even express how wonderful the whole salon is and every person in it. The atmosphere is incredible and they all work wonderfully together as well as it being a really great experience. The shampoo and massage is amazing!

I’ve had a unique experience of working with so many of these loving and talented people and I assure you to look no further for a salon that will treat you right!

Shout out to Em and the Up & Up Salon. I've got medium-length hair that looks like a simple cut, but surprisingly hard to find a stylist that gets wild, wavy hair. Really hard to control. I've learned when it's layered right, I've got great hair. When it's not, I dream of straight shaving it. Em gets the wave, and the salon has a good vibe that leaves you feeling up! Win, win (:

Short version:
Pros - more luxurious salon feel, knowledge of curly hair, more questions and communication about your particular hair
Cons - don’t handle billing mistakes professionally in my opinion. Not worth the service

I initially went to this salon to learn more about taking care of my wavy/curly hair. Jamie was helpful in making the experience comfortable by paraphrasing, asking if I had q’s, and suggesting methods and products.

Because I had a good experience so far and Up&Up was inclusive to all identities, I set up an appointment for my brunette friend to get their hair dyed red. I’ve never died my hair so I asked ahead of time what price range to expect before I booked the appointment, and I was told that it would be about $200, which I felt was fair based on information and conversations I’d had. I’d said to go ahead and book because I was splitting the cost with a friend. Then right before the appt I called to re-confirm the payment method (charge to card but only after text to confirm as I’d be in class, which an employee agreed to) but instead someone else left a voicemail who wasn’t told the agreement. 2,3,4 hours go by and I never got a text and realized about the voicemail. They told me they already charged my card at $420 (w/ $20 off for new customer discount). My friend was not told anything of the charges except a $35 repairing treatment add-on, which the friend did communicate to me during the haircut.

Sure communication could have been better between all parties in hindsight, but bottom line, if I made a promise to communicate and provide consent as a business, I would honor that and eat the cost to keep a regular customer. After a long call the most the owner offered was $54 back and the excuse that they did not communicate to me before performing the service as“most customers don’t have a budget limit, so this expectation was unexpected. ”
My friends and I will not be continuing service.

This was my first time at Up and Up Salon and it was fantastic. Sahara Lee started with a tour and consultation before doing a curly hair cut and highlighting my hair. She has an infectious attitude which made my visit excellent. My curls are moisturized and poppin’. I will be back! Thanks boo.
