The Venues reviews
5Beware! This is not a Christian church. It is a liberal self motivational group. They do not teach the Truth of God’s Word; they speak out of context of the Word of God. They pick and choose what is best for them. No sanctification - live as you want. The entire time I was there, I never heard to follow Jesus, be like Christ, glorify Christ. They are pro-abortion, pro-LGBQT+, Pro-premarital sex, pro-choose your gender, pro-any sex. They promote self and sinful lifestyle while claiming to be a church.
Just wanted a church who is welcoming to all without preaching leftist garbage. They do not welcome all, if you don’t vote like them they are nasty and hateful.
Have attended The Venues for a few years now. My childhood experiences left me with a very negative view of "church" in general. Through a book study I led at The Venues, I found out how many were like me and/or had been harmed by their experiences at conservative churches while growing up. The Venues is a truly welcoming church where you're accepted regardless of your beliefs, appearance, etc. It is laser focused on living as Jesus really preached, with unconditional love and true social consciousness. Look up Mark 12: 30-31. In a nutshell, that's all Philip (the preacher) teaches.
Went a few months ago. My husband & I walked out after the band used God's name in vain in a song. Would give - if I could. They made political comments didn't belong in church as well. I've prayed for everyone at there since.
I only went for maybe three months because I was only in the state to help caretake my grandpa and even with caring for someone with liver cancer, being a neurodivergent person and coming from a lot of spiritual trauma as a queer person I have never felt more spiritually save and protected then I have around those people. Even though I wasn’t there for long I still always come back to visit when I’m in the state.
