The Westside Local reviews
23Great food long wait fair price. The impossible substitute is a better veggie option than the house veggie patty. Dont get me wrong, theyre both good but honestly the house patty is mushy not the best texture kind of falls apart but tastes good.
Good breakfast food (vegetable burrito & pork belly burrito). Banana bread was really good! Try it! Long wait for our food (maybe staff issues because of COVID-19). Would recommend to anyone.
The atmosphere makes for a perfect little spot to enjoy a nice conversation, whether it is inside the dining area or on the outside porch. The food is fresh and healthy and amazing. My personal favorites are the grilled cheese and tomato soup or the BLT. They literally broke the mold for both of these common sandwiches. It is kind of a small space so it's best to make reservations. The staff is great, the food is fantastic, and the cocktails are also unique and delicious.
Wonderful staff. Mac and cheese with cajun pork belly was the bomb. Huge portions. Definitely worth it and we'll be back.
Great service with servers that have a fun sense of humor. The food, simply fantastic! I am addicted to the Jalapeno Popper Toasted Cheese Sandwich!
Make reservations because we didn’t and were treated like we were invisible. We were told we had 75 min but a waiter didn’t come to our table for 30min. We finally asked someone and a waitress showed up without apology. Then she got my drink order wrong twice. We had to shovel the food down, which was good. I wish we had time to eat it.
The staff should be embarrassed of the state of this establishment right now. Brandon is extremely unprofessional, abrasive with customers when they are arriving asking for their orders- and they have not even been ordered yet. It took close to two hours to get our food tonight. If nothing else, an attitude change would be appreciated.
Love the atmosphere! Very Hip and upbeat! Crowd was made up of all age groups. Service was good. Food was excellent! From where we sat we saw kitchen employees and servers changing gloves, reassuring us that this place does things right. I am looking forward to going back.
This is a fantastic little eatery, that lies just off the beaten path. The meals our group had were amazing, and the drinks were fantastic. It's small, so you may have trouble getting in, but keep your groups small, and you'll have an easier time. Standouts were the Bison & Pork Bolognese, and the Surf n' Turf. Both which paired nicely with their cocktail "Death. "
Sat for 15 minutes and had no service. Was given water.waited.water refilled. Waited.wait staff passed us by.waited. Our server passed us twice, plated a couple that came well after we did. Just when we stood up to go our server came by. We had already made up our mind on another place. Very few good options on menu. Was sat outside on a little table that had chiggers. The food smelled and looked great from our seat, would have liked to try it.
One of my most favorite places in town to eat, especially the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I go here as much as I can.
Traveling through KC and wanted to get off the beaten path. Found this place based on other reviews. So fantastic! Eclectic group of folks working here. Food and service were tops!
We went here for Sunday brunch and they knocked it out of the park. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and gave us great tips that we can even use at home! The food was fresh and delicious and their flavor blending in their food is top notch! I'm dying to go back to try something off of their dinner menu!
Had a birthday brunch there with 3 friends. Service was friendly, helpful and efficient. Gets a little noisy, so we asked to move and our was handled easily and quickly. We all agreed our omelettes were tasty with very fresh ingredients. We weren't rushed out even though they were busy. Definitely would go back to try the patio when it's cooler and love the neighborhood with all the uniquely designed homes
If you’re into warm Mimosa’s and cold chilaquiles this is the spot for you!
Food is pretty bland all around. And when you mention the temp of the food being off to a server they will kindly correct you and let you know that it is not wrong.
Definitely will never be back. Much better restaurants not too far away
Local fair. The bar sports some local beers. The food is good but not fast; if you want fast you shouldn't be here anyway. Service is fantastic.
Steak salad was really good. Blackbean hummus was great. Prices are steep but the food seems really high quality.
I have been here for both lunch and dinner, and both visits were excellent! The menu has great variety and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is also relaxed and cozy.
Thoroughly impressed. Great medley of flavors. Even needed a reservation on a Sunday night. You know it is good when you need a Sunday night reservation.
Always fantastic food, great atmosphere, and tasty beverages. The westside cocktail is a tried and true favorite. Brunch is our preferred meal to visit but we've also enjoyed their lunch selection.
