Having this house in STL is amazing on its own, to have it owned by people that want to share it in this way is even more amazing. The owners are incredibly kind & hard at work on saving this (as well as countless others FLW buildings.) Their passion is so evident & they welcome all into this incredible piece of FLW history. Their idea of how to share and invite others is so refreshing and truly unique.
The house is a "Usonian Automatic" and is quite different from other Usonians. It was one of the last Wright homes built that I am aware of. I think it might also have the most mitered glass in it than any other Usonian.
Without a doubt, it is a MUST for any WrightHead!
At this stage tour are by appointment only but it is definitely worth it. The house is very special/unique. Michael and Carol is very knowledgeable about the house and it's history having bought it from the Pappas family but also Michael has been making documentaries about Frank Lloyd Wright and his houses for a long time.
House is in restoration but current owners are giving tours by appointment. Very kind and knowledgeable guide and a very FLW house!
