Twin Island House, Blue Eye MO

The Twin Island House exceeded our expectations for our recent couples’ weekend getaway! The house was very up to date, tastefully decorated and impeccably clean.

We had wanted to find a house that was near the lake, yet secluded for our retreat, and would offer several amenities. Twin Island House offered exactly that!

The large deck offered a breath taking view of Table Rock Lake, surrounded by trees and nature. Just down the stone steps was a well cared for pool with a deck for suntanning, and nearby a volleyball area was set up.

One of our favorite amenities was the included kayaks that we could walk down a path to and take out onto the Lake. A perfect morning activity! Another favorite amenity was the large hot tub. It was clean, looked new and had some special light features that we enjoyed in the evening. We also made sure to utilize the fire pit one evening and it was in such a beautiful outdoor setting.

We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful house to have our couples’ retreat. Thank you for providing such a wonderful property!

The good, the bad, the ugly…

The Good: nice home, excellent views from main floor, nice open kitchen and living area

The Bad:

- difficult to get the lake (I am in good shape and only walked down a couple times during out stay). Be prepared to drag kayaks a ways too…
- Pool area neglected (pool net torn and unusable, inflatables popped, etc.)
- Lengthy contract and laundry list of rules (presented after signing AirBnB contract)

The Ugly

- Pool maintenance and landscaping scheduled during our stay and frequently interrupted our family time (see video). **Had this been communicated and scheduled around our time at the home, it would not have been a problem**
- Owner passive aggressive in communication (we texted about issues and were basically told “it takes a lot to maintain a property like this, maybe you should look for another rental next time”…

Bottom line: it’s a nice house, but lake access difficulty is the downfall. Other issues really make it difficult to see where the value is for the price…
