I have used U-Pick Hardwood Lumber on multiple occasions. Purchasing hardwoods can be intimidating and confusing. U-Pick offers a relaxed atmosphere with a great selection of domestic and imported woods. If you are a weekend warrior, hobbyist, or professional U-Pick will not let you down.

Great choice of fine hardwood lumber with many species and good selection of widths and thickness.

Best selection of exotic wood stock in st.louis.with a significant amount of larger stock for bigger projects. Sadly they do not offer any milling services beyond cut-off sawing to square up or resize their stock.

U-Pick hardwood is definitely my go-to hardwood lumber store. I do quite a bit of research on the prices in the area and U-Pick is often the best. I also like to take advantage of the bargains they typically have on any given day. I'm also the type to have a lot of questions when I go in and the guys there are always helpful, friendly and give great advice on my project needs. I'd consider myself a regular now, but when I first went there, I just started to get into woodworking and didn't know very much about wood, thickness measurements, hardness, or even the different species. They really helped me to understand and I've learned a lot just going into U-Pick

The man was very helpful the selection was exactly what i was looking for and the price was great.

As a Wood Student, I've been to several hardwood stores in the area, however, U-Pick is my go to. They have an huge selection of Hardwood and Exotic wood and make it a policy not to run out. U-Pick lack certain cuts of wood (ie. 5/4" Thick White Oak and certain grades of Plywood) but they make up for it with their ordering service. I've had friends and fellow students order Plywood from other stores that was damaged or mishandled, U-Pick will not sell you a bad piece. Also, compared to other stores in the area, Shipping is FAST! (I ordered Plywood and it was there the next day). If you need any Hardwood go to U-Pick.

This place is exactly what I have been searching for. High quantity slabs and boards in a vast array of species. He had species I have never even heard before. I have been on a quest to find a 40in + walnut slab for over two months, and had probably called 45-50 businesses and mills to no avail until I called Craig (see images). Very fair prices and a guy with integrity. I will be back, and encourage whoever reads this review to do the same!

Friendly and affordable!
I've never actually been to a hardwood store before and typically got my lumber from the big box store. I guess because i was intimidated. However, right when i walked in i was helped and shown the ropes along with various options for my cabinet project. Literally no pressure and all the help i could ask for. Instead of making cabinets out of cheap pine, I've got the right lumber and a new go to place! Couldn't be happier!

I could spend hours in there just browsing the selection of lumber and thinking about what i could build with each type of wood I look at. Love the exotics, especially purpleheart. Prices are also reasonable. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about the properties of the lumber, especially the exotics. Tigerwood, Zebrawood, Purpleheart, etc.if you are looking for exotics, this is the place and it's available in sizes I have not seen anywhere else in the area. I will be going back for any of my woodworking needs!

Craig has a good selection of hardwoods at very good prices. Quality is really good and he stocks shorts (7 footers) which most wood suppliers in the area don't. Definitely worth a look.

Went here for wood for my daughters jewelry box. Great selection and the owner was really nice! Definitely would recommend.
