United Fruit & Produce Co. reviews
9Excellent, I had an appointment at 6 am on a Sunday, I arrived half an hour early and they received me at 5: 50 am at the door.
These guys are always on their game and get me unloaded quickly and on my way. I really enjoy coming here.
Always good here, you check in with guard pay the parking fee. And than you go either across the street or inside the produce market, all depends on what you have but yeah not bad
Great place to deliver to. Was scared from reviews but it is what it is. Everyone is super friendly and got unloaded in a timely manner.
We have worked with United Fruit & Produce Co.for some time now. They are an absolute delight to work with and we have had virtually zero issues with them. In our experience, they are organized and very kind and professional. I have also had a chance to taste some of the produce they have to offer- and it is all incredibly flavorful and fresh- they've definitely got it goin' on! Highly reccommend working with them whether you are on the transportation side of the industry or on the consumer side.
I wanted to note also that I see a lot of people complaining in the reviews about the $40 Gate Fee and leaving 1-Star reviews because of it. For one, you are in trucking- this is not unheard of and to be blunt, $40 is nothing compared to other gate/market fees and/or lumper service costs, etc. If you are a carrier, that is an accessorial that should be charged to your customer if you are delivering a load to UFP that you booked through a 3PL provider. If you are paying out of pocket for that and not getting reimbursed as a carrier- then YOU are doing something wrong (ie: if you are on a brokered load and the broker says they won't reimburse you for that accessorial or that UFP won't reimburse them for it- they are lying to you- don't trust that broker).
From the gate to staff I give 5 stars.a bit tight but doable.if you are delivering to Diebergs there is no $40 entrance fee
Where to start, 1st you will pay 40 dollars to get in the gate for this circus show, appointment was 0500-1500 on Sunday. Arrived at 12: 36 to find it closed at noon. At 0800 next morning (Mon) I'm told a dock just to find out they assigned it to another driver as well. Hour later when I finally get a dock, its very tight backing, doable but watch the wall and tractor distance. To top it off 5 pallets equals 3 hours to unload. Yeah, I'll not be returning.
I gave the review three stars because there is no one to tell you how to get to where you check in. Once I found where to check in, I was off loaded in an hour.
Deliver here once a week. Pull in park on right side. Walk to guard shack. Give BOL. $40.00 cash except if you’re delivering for Dierbergs. They are the only ones that cover the gate fee. Gate fee is only for deliveries. Broker/customer should reimburse you. Save your receipt. If you are delivering in the back docks. There are Be patient. Not a lot of room. (Yes it’s tight but doable!) First handful of doors is Dierbergs. You will see their shipping/ receiving office by door 7 & 8 A little further down (where the half concrete wall and half chain link fence begins on your right-hand side) that’s united fruit and produce company shipping and receiving. When you see these numbers (photo) you’re at United fruit. There are others further down. Don’t know cuz I never delivered for them. I usually only have a few pallets so it doesn’t take them long. 99 percent of the time I get put in a door right away. They are always nice. Yard men are helpful!
