Valley View Lodge reviews
15Floors creek, you can tell the whole building needs renovation, our room felt like there was a hole beginning to form under the carpet. AC units leaked, our tv couldn’t get half of the channels it provided, the bathroom was filthy. This was supposed to be a Valentine’s Day trip and we were really disappointed in the room. We were lead to believe we were getting something that was closer to the pictures provided on the booking site but it was so much worse. Not to mention the shuttles were awful to deal with, they kept pushing back our arrival time. And the other guests were so loud they kept us up past midnight. Needless to say this was what we had in mind. Very disappointing.
Our golf trip to Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, MO was amazing. The hotel was great but the golf, especially Payne's Valley was fantastic.
Housekeeping was not the best and the rooms are showing their age. Aside from that we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Shuttle bus is a wonderful perk.
This place is beautiful. Rooms were not designed for short kids. (i.e. The light switch in the bathroom was mounted to high up on the wall.) Attention to detail was not observed. Switch was crooked. Toilet is literally next to the bathtub. Not sure why it's placed this way.
We had a fantastic weekend here. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful and the room was very clean and they followed COVID regulations to the letter which we really appreciated.
The whole place is absolutely beautiful and I loved everything about it. However, the Valley View Lodge rooms are a bit tired and the bathroom floors need to be scrubbed. Other then that Big Cedar Lodge is perfect!
I was here a week for a training event. This place is amazing! From my lodge room to the restaurants, everything was top notch. Staff is well trained and courteous. Views of the lake are stunning. Check out the church, next to the Top of the Rock Restaurant.
Very disappointing. Rooms were small, dated and expensive given the value equation. Not at all up to a Johnny Morris quality product.
Normally, we're blown away to stay at Big Cedar, but this time, wife got food poisoning from room service, bed was really lumpy (the hump in the middle made it hard to see her laying there, literally), tv barely worked and the drain for the shower was backed up. Like I said we love Big Cedar, but this visit was totally on us to make sure we had a good time. Could have stayed at a motel for much cheaper with a better room. When I told the front desk about that, all they offered was an apology. I guess if you're not booking the $800 a night cabin (which we've done for 6 nights) they really don't care about the room. We still payed over $300 a night here and I guess we were expecting a little more or at least our room service meal comped for my wife in the bathroom all night. Get it together Big Cedar, I know you can do better.
Lodge rooms are very small and outdated. Bathroom very tiny. Very overpriced. Grounds were immaculate.
Pretty cool resort! First time here. Pleased with area, people, and variety of things offered.
The room has nice spacing. You don't feel like your crammed in a small place. Very clean. Bathroom could have been done a little differently, but not spending much time in there so it's not a problem. Something small I surprisingly liked, the body wash and soaps were awesome.
It was the perfect get-a-way for the weekend. All the stores were having their 50-75% off sale. They do this every year about this time. If you go to the office or online at Tanger Outlets.com you can get coupons, free tote, parking pass, and all kinds of extras!
Great stay! Clean and quiet rooms.
Definitely use the shuttle setvice to get around the property, unless you really enjoy walking like we do. Big Cedar is a beautiful place to stay!
Room was very cozy and well decorated. Our room (204) at Valley View was on the back side of the lodge near the end and parking was less than desirable, but not horrid, if you know how to backup. There is an issue with the noise level of neighboring rooms, but I think that's to be expected pretty much anywhere. Grounds are well maintained. Property directions are a bit confusing so be sure to allow plenty of time if you're on a schedule. There are spetacular photo ops all over the area.
I lost a teardrop pendant with pave diamonds and semi precious stones somewhere between our room, the short walk down the steps to our car and the entry/exit up on the ridge. I realized after we had left and were on the road. I called Big Cedar and was directed to both housekeeping and security. They both assured me if it was turned in I would be contacted. Keeping my fingers crossed it's turned in!
