Wagon Wheel Motel reviews
12Old retro charm, nice updates. Definitely will repeat stay. While traveling I'm area.
Super cute, super clean. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Everything you would want in a Route 66 Motel, with really great food within walking distance.
It was a great place to stay for an overnight trip along old Route 66. I loved the neon sign and the little store full of Route 66 stuff.
We stopped to take some pictures and discovered that this Route 66 treasure is still operating after over 8 decades! I love all the beautiful stonework on the buildings, and I'm now looking forward to booking a stay there, as it seems it will be a great experience.
Stayed here last fall as part of our Route 66 driving experience. Room was small but clean and so nostalgic. If you like reliving the past glory days of highway hotels from the 40s & 50s, this certainly fits the bill! Would do it again!
After seeing the wagon wheel and pictures being on the property was so cool. The outside was pretty and the rooms were absolutely spotless. We brought our pug and were just grateful that they had rooms that would accommodate a dog.
It was so clean and cute and well decorated we couldn't have been any happier.
The owner was very nice and accommodating as well as her family members that were also working on property. They gave us plenty of wood for the Communal fire pit.
Which was such a highlight of the evening we met some really nice people. A couple from pennsylvania and a businessman from China. A melting pot in the middle of a wonderful piece of Americana.
We cannot wait to go again.
My son and I are doing rt. 66, had to stop at the historic Wagon Wheel! Our Room was Neat and Clean.laying in bed all I could think of was the many people that had passed here over the years. Famous people? Families that were on that family vacation? All of the excitement and passion that people have got to experience and the many memories that have been made. They did a great job of making it new again and preserving the original look. If your traveling and want the True Rt. 66 Mother Road experience then you must stay a night at the Wagon Wheel.
If you are traveling with a dog, read this before making a reservation. Called to make a reservation, and was told there were two pet rooms. We felt fortunate there was one available. We were NOT told the room would not be in the cute historic stone cottages. Instead we were given a key yo a cinderblock outpost in the lower 40, which had cement floors, a cheap metal door from Home Depot and a wall A/C Heater Unit, which sounded like a jet engine when it was running. We were also told our dog, was not allowed on the bed or in the bathroom. I did not even want to go in the bathroom. It was small and cramped with a cheap plastic shower stall with a curtain. The room was connected with the laundry facility which also had a jet engine heater unit which cycled on and off every thirty minutes. We called the number which was left in the room, which said to call with any problems we may have. The woman came out, was rude and yelled at us. If you don't want pets you should have a no pet policy. But don't charge $125 to stay in a jail cell.
Super love the setting, accommodations, and history. Room was very nice, quaint, and restored. Scheduling the room was NOT a good experience.
My wife and I stayed here recently during our Route 66 trip and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The rooms are nicely remodeled, and it was a beautiful setting. We walked next door to the Missouri Hick BBQ for dinner and really enjoyed that as well. We highly recommend it.
Wonderfully clean. She and staff care. Way my grandmother cleans comes to mind. No riff raff. You can tell they take pride in this historic gem.
The room was small but very well appointed and clean. Bathroom and especially the shower was very small. The entire property is amazing with the layout of the buildings and the design - beautiful! Checkin was very easy and the lady very friendly and helpful. I had Room 14 which had a (shared) deck off the back which was a nice addition. There's a great Bar-B-Que place right next door as well that was very good!
