Comment: "Today's service by G. King was great as usual. He got all of our problems corrected, explained the situation, and was able to do some training on recording wanted footage. Thanks much! "

In Aug. 2019, I engaged the services of Watchmen Security based on their glowing reviews. Watchmen required I sign a 5-year contract for both business and home with low up-front equipment and installation expenses for a DSI Wi-Fi system made in Springfield, MO and a $125 monthly monitoring fee for both locations.
Sales did not effectively communicate the security equipment needs of the house and business. Instead of focusing on assessment, the sales person talked more about being a minister and their opinion our property would be ideal for weddings and receptions that they would be interested in renting.
Unfortunately, sticky sensors were installed on four 10’x10’ heavy dock doors and four metal exterior doors. The sensors fell off the first time we opened the dock doors. Heavy duty screw-in sensors had to be ordered then a removal and reinstall.
Sticky sensors were installed inside the house but also on the exterior wood barn doors of two outer buildings. It didn’t take long for them to fall off from exposure to rain. The door from the garage to kitchen slammed closed from air suction and the sensor popped off. I reported the front door sensor issues. The tech came out and noted the sensor had been installed 4-inches from the door hinge side not at the opposite edge where the door cracks open. He commented that the first installer “had probably been turned out to the field too early. ”
It took 6-weeks to get the security systems running at both locations from the signing of the contract in mid- August to end of Sept. It had been exhausting for us due to the time spent having to report numerous issues and then dealing with the follow up interruptions during business hours.
Over the next months, the monitoring service worked because we were receiving calls when we inadvertently set off the alarm, when it could not pick up a sensor signal and when our internet was temporarily down due to a bad internet router that was replaced by AT&T that corrected the situation.
Even after months of faithfully disarming and arming the systems with regularity, I opened an exterior door this summer and quickly closed it after realizing the system was still armed. No alarm. I thought perhaps it had happened too fast for the system.
Then one early morning in August, I rushed to answer the front door before disarming the system. I stood there for several minutes talking to the visitor. Nothing happened. There had never been any sign of issues. The control panel always appeared to arm and disarm effectively, complete with countdown at exit. One barn sensor had issues at times but I could hit Bypass.
I notified Watchman that I wanted to cancel the service in late August this year. By this time, we had lost all confidence in this company’s ability to provide a basic security system we can trust just in its first year. Accounts Receivable called for my payment, told me we would have to pay the rest of the contract if we cancelled and berated me for not calling them to report the issue when it was really their failure to perform the service they were charging us for. They should’ve been conducting a daily or at least weekly tests of the signal between our systems, the cell tower and monitoring station which had not been done for who knows how long at my cost of $125 a month. Were we supposed to purposely set off the alarm periodically to test the signal?
The DSI security system is proprietary so we could not change monitoring services as can be done with most other security systems. The DSI was replaced a few weeks after my request to cancel. Sadly, Watchmen never had a clue their equipment had been removed. We should’ve received numerous calls from the monitoring station to report the failure to connect at both house and business, but no. I had to notify Watchmen it has already been replaced.

Lucas and his team were both professional as well as courteous. Having a team I can trust in my house to set up security for my family is a huge decision. I would recommend this outfit 100% of the time.
