Winterset Park Nature Area reviews
16 The park is a little confusing to find. It borders the northwest part of Charles David Hartman Park. We parked in the lot where all the bicyclists seem to park to ride on the Rock Island Trail. We had to ask people where to find this one.
The woods are pretty, and the trails are good. We visited on the weekend and it was so full of people. We didn't know how to get down to the creek area where the waterfalls supposedly are, and it was too crowded to want to.
It's a great park with a wonderful stream, if the water is high enough. There's still a lot for this park to enjoy despite the lack of water. The park is impressively clean and easily accessible for all ages. I love taking my family here to explore and relax.
This place is sooo pretty and such a great place to swim and have the kids explore but be prepared to bring your water shoes because the rocks in and outside of the swimming hole are serious! Also you have to park where the park is and then walk down past the park following side walk to the back of the baseball field and you will then see a brown bridge to the right in the woods you want to go on that bridge and follow the trail and when the trail splits go to the left and then u will walk right into the river area but if u want to get to the swimming hole quicker then walking down through rocks and water exploring just turn to the right and in a foot or two you will see two more paths down to the swimming hole!
It's was nice water went down a lot but can deff catch catch fish in the creek, pretty cool
This is a really nice area with outstanding trails for hiking or biking. It is well kept and maintained. Always see wild life on these trails from deer to rabbits and even fish. There are also, bridges, tunnels and a horse farm next to part of the trail.
Great little hiking spot with a little waterfall to enjoy during those HOT summer days in a cold creek
We went a little off the trail to the creek and that's where the kids (8,10) really had a fun time.
Food and service were great, but the air conditioning was broke and with it being 90° outside, it was plenty hot inside. No fans, no nothing. If we would've had time, we would've left
Trail is about a mile long. Creek is usually clean and clear. I enjoy going here to look at nature.
Stopped to enjoy our Andy Custard "al fresco! "
Had a duck nibble on my shoe, cute, but I wouldn't go there alone.quite trashy and evidence of vagrants beneath 103rd bridge
Stays busy. Kids love coming here because they can play on the playground and get wet in the water.
We loved this area/Park. We got our engagement/family photos here in the creek.and the kiddos played hard!
Winterset Park Nature Area is actually just part of Charles Hartman Park in which you can find here three softball fields and walking or biking around the whole field is awesome. There I also a great park for kids from 3 to 12 years old. Rest room is available also. This is also part of Rock Island Trail here in Missouri.
Such a beautiful place to explore. Love how well kept the area is and great park and restroom.
This is a great park to let the kids play in the park area. Then walk a short hike down to a rock creek bed for swim. Great place to take photo sessions. Always a go to for a relaxing day.
