Amsterdam Meat Shop, Manhattan MT

My family will never shop here again. It took us over six months to get the order. Once they finally had the beef, they called and rudely demanded immediate payment before we even picked it up. The customer service is lacking to say the least. We’ve bought from this shop for years. But we will never make that mistake again. The meat we received was inedible and disgusting. When we messaged to inform them, they told us that everyone else who received cuts from the same cow was satisfied. Then we were condescendingly asked about how we cooked the meat and if we'd ever cooked grass-fed beef before. What a joke. I would rather go vegetarian than buy meat from this place.

I’m all for supporting local, but unfortunately, I cannot go back to this business. They did not greet me when I walked in the door, I had to say hello. I was just there to buy dog bones, and they are ridiculously expensive! A bag of 4 bones for just under $15 The previous owner sold large bags of dog bones for $6.00.10+ of decent sized bones. The meat shop used to be hometown feeling, old school, friendly and super clean smelling. Unfortunate that it’s not that way anymore. I understand the times change, businesses change hands, and prices go up. It’s just sad that it changed so much - I expected better from a local business/family. I live just down the street, but will not be shopping here in the future.

I've had both lamb and bison processed here the past two years and they have done a great job. Followed our cut orders exactly. All cuts were properly trimmed, clean and wrapped. Aldo, they have good prices on high quality, locally raised meat.

The person there was very knowledgeable and friendly. Loved hearing a little bit about the history of the area. Prices are reasonable and tons of local options available and they offer grass fed or grain fed in most cuts.

This place is awesome. Great prices and delicious cuts. They always have something for my growing family. Even the four-legged ones. They had eggs for reasonable prices all through the shortage, and they have multiple types. Always friendly, clean, and offering quick service. You can even have animals processed here if you don't handle that yourself. I'm happy to have them as a neighbor.

Outstanding products and fantastic service. I ordered half a hog processed, and everything I have tried is top notch. I will buy my meat from here from now on. All local stuff, no Bill Gates poison meat products here! Thanks Feddes Family!

After a lengthy review on this meat shop, um I've totally changed my opinion on them.
They do Not cut their steaks rite,
I've been a butcher too and they r trying to sell you a lame over fatty t bone.in place of a porterhouse.
That's just one thing, they also do not clean their stations right,
They just flip the cutting boards between sheep, cows and pigs.
Surprised the USDA let's them get away with that as one would call this cross contamination, all the bacterias causing people's meats to go rancid and unedible.
They don't clean their pork very good, found pig hair in meat.
Little brown and red hairs that would just gag a maggot.
I Do Not Recommend this meat shop to anyone less you want food poisoning or something like it.
I would spend the money to go to Butte or to Danials meats in Bozeman Mt.
As their steaks r always good
