A&W Restaurant, Columbia Falls MT

Hours aren't accurate. Even if the sign is one for the drive through they turn the lights off and hide in the back.

It was $30 for two burgers and two onion rings. No drinks. The woman serving us even apologized for the price, greedy owners. The food was mediocre.

Had to wait forever for food because "they forgot they had to make patties for our order" isn't that what you do all day make burgers how can u forget to make patties?

The worst experience today at A&W, as we placed out order in the drive thru, get to the window to confirm my order ended up getting charged for mini corn dogs that I didn't order. After telling the attendant this he still charged me for it. He gave me the receipt and when I explained he still charged me, he asked if I wanted a refund? I finally get my refund and my order drive 10 miles home with 2 small children to open our bags and find we received 3 small fries with nothing else from our order. We drive back out there and they had 2 of our sandwiches ready and we had to wait another 10 minutes for the 3rd sandwich because they gave ours away. By the time we got home it was all cold. So very disappointing. If you go thru the drive thru make sure you open all your bags. And the sign that says your apologies for being understaffed maybe if you didn't have 3 young girls standing around chatting rather than messing up orders people would have more patience.

Love it.

UPDATE: It's been 4 years since I made this review. I went here for the last time tonight. It's gone downhill, badly. The service, food, and building is terrible. Thei speaker in the drive thru hasn't worked well for a long time. When they moved buildings is when it really took a turn. Very sad because this used to be a very loved fast food place here. Dairy queen has really been stepping it up. Don't waste your money here.

Absolutely Love coming to this A&W! Fantastic Food, Crispy fries and wonderful burgers with a view! The staff are dedicated to a service and it shows!

I love their burgers but they are so salty. No salt on the fries so why on the meat. Loved having to go inside it was clean, friendly and didn't have to wait long.

With what transpired with the little girl and her service animal and the manager I'm beyond disappointed in this establishment. There are no signs for rules with service animals at this A&W

Always friendly great service even when jammed packed! And appeal to the customers! Not a whole lot of places that offer specials like they do during these times and the fact the cashier was wearing a Raiders jacket I'm sold. Thanks

I waited in line for at least 20 minutes, ordered food for the family (4 people). I finally got the order and it was incorrect. I called the restaurant and spoke with a female in charge that afternoon. She argued with me on the items ordered. I was told that " we got the food we paid for" and she would not "give us free food", referring to the food we ordered and didn't receive. So the issue was we didn't receive the items we ordered, we received food that we didn't order and the manager was unwilling to correct their mistake. Her excuse was we got the food we payed for.but the food we paid for was not the food we ordered. Terrible service! I was really wanting a Coney dog with chili never happened, my wife didn't get what she wanted. We ended up with 5 A&W floats, for the 4 of us. IDK what to say but keep this up and you probably won't stay open much longer.

One of the worst. Hamburger was cold and tasteless. Pork tenderloin was just a little tough. Fries were cold. The best thing about this restaurant was the cashier who is a foreign exchange student from Hungary. Zhe was very nice and pleasant.

Oh, and the place was filthy.

This place is really bad! First off, the young lady taking orders was rude. She made a snarky comment when I was ordering. Then, she came out later to put the chairs up on the tables. She wiped the tables and then put the dirty chairs on the clean tables. When I asked about the chairs being clean, she asked me if I wanted an application. Really? How about just accept feedback and learn something.

She then went back to tell her supervisor, loudly. They both came out to sweep and insisted on sweeping under our table while we were sitting there. Never had that happen before.

This, is all on top of the fact that it took 19 minutes for our food and probably would have taken longer if I hadn't asked about it. It was sitting there waiting to be delivered. Guessing it had been there for a little while because none of it was particularly hot.

Also, they close the lobby a half hour before closing. They make it very known they want you gone. The manager loudly announced that the lobby closed in 10 minutes and told the staff to lock the doors when that 10 minutes was up.

There were no towels in either of the restrooms.

My nephew had specifically chosen this restaurant. He talked all day about going and this was our experience.

This is all a reflection of poor management. Having owned a restaurant previously, I would never have let any of my staff talk to customers like that.

This place was ok. A typical A&W on the side of the highway. Was VERY busy. And VERY pricey. The burgers were "just ok" the fries were 1/2 gross because they obviously needed to change out there fryer grease. Eating here its just the experience of saying you ate at the ever dying breed of A&W. The parking is not very good either as it's butt up next to a gas station so people there constantly coming and going for gas or trying to get over to the A&W. There isn't much for allot of room to sit in and eat, the garbage were way over filled and guarbage falling out onto the ground.
If you must eat here; get there; park, get your baggie of stuff, get back in your car and continue down the road and eat on the way or some other possible rest stop.

Food arrived as expected, but incredibly slow drive thru probably because they’re short staffed.

Sat in drive thru 20 minutes and moved 1 space forward. Dining room is closed. I don't have 2 hours to wait in a drive through. Used to be good service. Avoid them!

Possibly the worst drive thru experience I’ve ever experienced. The location is great and probably do great business but it’s horrible. Not only did I literally sit in line for almost 15 min, the root beer was completely flat. Some may love the Coney Dog’s so I won’t criticize except to say, you better like cheese Whiz. Whoever owns this business should be ashamed.
