Big Horn Rest Area reviews
14Actually a shockingly nice Rest Area. If this is the right one… with the fancy big glass windows… if this is the super shady one with the gut wrenching smell and smear toilers I am so, so sorry.
There was 10" of snow on the ground. I was the only one that could drive through a heavy snow storm. They didn't do anything about their parking. Whatever. It was a quick storm.
Clean restrooms and absolutely LOVED that they had a fenced in dog park! Even though it was small, it was perfect! It made our rest stop experience so much better and 100% stress free!
Very nice place to stop, stretch, go potty and more. Clean and VERY well taken care of. You can also refill your water bottles!
Great parking area for semis trucks to the family little cooper vehicle. Clean Bathrooms and built-in picnic tables.
Clean single private restrooms. Open space for tractor-trailer parking. Lack of vending machines for snacks. I noticed that the Monument Display closer to the rest area entrance of the 2 Historical men, their faces were altered which I find is disrespectful to History and the state of Montana, like the vandal doesn't like White people I suspect.
Clean. Plenty of parking. Good place to stop and sleep for a few hours. There are several large individual bathrooms for privacy, making it much easier to change into fresh clothes.
Very nice quiet and peaceful. Good place to park for personal and commercial vehicles.we’ll lid running water, Private stalls for man, women and family room. No vending machines though.
Great stop lost my little squirrel stuffed animal between Forsyth about 8 miles out of town on way to billings had little vest on
Nice fenced in dog run.
Needs pee gravel on the run though!
Suggest about 4 to 6 inches.
It gets a bit muddy in their!
Well at least I hope that was mud.
That which has been gone over; clean personal restrooms, grounds and enclosed pet area.
The other stuff. I had tontake one more star for water quality.
The filtration systems here are either neglected or not up to the standards for tap water. I being a water filter with me, yet this is the first rest area that I required it.
This would be a perfect rest point for those of us sleeping on our journeys, it isn't. Weekends day it can be very busy with family's.
By far the worst, and most manageable issue with this rest area is the over abundance of light pollution it creates.
This is hard on drivers without their own blackout campers and it ruins the natural beauty of thus charming mountain region.
To whomever manages this site, please consider reducing the over head lighting in the parking by half or more in the hours from 10PM to 5AM.
This would benefit every single aspect of this site. This site creates a terrible effect on the local environment with light pollution. This affects every living thing in the area. It is not a safety requirement, it is not recommended by any facilities management from state to state.
I would have so many things to remember about this site, but this is what stands out; a blinding beacon of clean bathrooms.
I have never seen a rest area where you get a whole bathroom to yourself not just a bunch of stalls! Very nice and clean!
Always clean with plenty of open, well lit, ventilated, rooms. I frequently stop here as it is the half way point between the 142 mile trek between our home in Miles City and Billings, MT. The soap dispensers are always filled and there are automatic door openers.
