Big Timber / Greycliff KOA Journey reviews
15 Hwy and train are super noisy. We only booked this KOA because of the pool. Our son wanted to swim and the pool was locked so I went in the office and asked the front desk lady (I think her name is Paula). She was super unfriendly and told me it's because of the weather. I told her it was hot and sunny out. She finally unlocked it but wasn't too happy about it.
I went back in the next day and she was still unfriendly. She's definitely the wrong person for the job.
Low points- a dog was continuously barking and nothing was done. There was no lighting at all in the campground, but the restrooms were clean.
Nice place to stay when visiting Big Timber, Crazy Mts, fishing the Boulder and Yellowstone Rivers.
Pulled in at 1030 pm and was still able to get a really nice campsite. Nice amenities and very nice Koa attendants. Woke up to the locals sunning above us, very nice to see natural looking campgrounds and surrounding beauty. Next time we will go into greycliffe proper and visit the mills. Putting this one on the list of return I-90 sleepovers. Left some kindness rocks around for others to find they have travelled on average 10,000 miles. Enjoy
Nice little Campground with very friendly staff. Hwy and train are a little noisy but we still got good sleep.
We have stayed at many KOAs before and this is the first one that has charged a pet fee. Not only that, but we weren't told. It just hit our credit card. When we asked about it, we were told that is because no one cleans up after pets. Our koa profile states that we have pets but there wasn't anything on the website saying that there was a charge. The campground is only fair but charges as much as many upscale resorts. I don't recommend this place at all!
Super nice office. The front desk lady was a little abrasive and threatened that she walks the park every day. Which is fine I guess if you have a bunch of dirtbags staying there but came across the wrong way for someone only staying overnight. Nice that they have some stuff for the kids to do and a dog run. The sites are all very run down though. Ours had a leaking faucet and and exposed pipe in the ground. Nice long sites but they are narrow.
Great signage to guide you into the campground. Easy off and on to Interstate. Friendly helpful staff, they guide you to your campsite. Very clean and well maintained restrooms, showers and laundry. Will stay here again when traveling through.
Neat, compact place. Hosts were friendly and flexible. Only downside was NOISE! But, here too they were forthright and offered complementary ear lugs.
Just an overnight stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The park is clean and well maintained, the restrooms are well kept. However, like many KOA's it is located right next the highway and here you get an added bonus of trains; they sound their horns just as they pass the KOA. I would stay here again.
Just a 1 night stop on our way to SD. Very clean and friendly staff. Lot of grass and level gravel sites. Nice bathrooms and showers.
This was my first real solo camping trip. I was nervous. On my 2nd night, there was a storm. Absolutely terrifying. The next day the weather continued and my tent broke. I came back to the campground and was devastated (brand new, highly rated tent). Immediately they came over and tried to help me fix it, but when it was obvious it wasn’t going to work, they helped me move all my stuff to a cabin. First and foremost, these are good people working.
They also are helpful recommending places to try out.
I also met fantastic people in the campground and everyone was respectful and quiet.
Bathrooms are clean. Store is thoughtfully stocked.
Definitely would come back!
"Large" pull through spots not large. When reserved we gave all details about our rig. Spot has BBQ on one side and hookups on other side leaving no room to put slide outs completely out. We had to place our rig partly in the driveway to put slides out and stairs down. The park itself is beautiful but the large pull in slots as advertised will not fit large rigs. For reference our rig is 37 feet, we have 3 medium sized slide outs. Also, directions given in email might take you to wrong location. Office just shrugged at me and said it happens.
We stayed here twice in 2021. Very nice well kept campground. Very accommodating people that run it. Planning on staying again this summer when heading out west.
This campground is on the smaller side but has very long sites. There is plenty of space to park even the biggest rigs. We stayed here in a 42 foot 5th wheel and had a ton of space for our truck in front and behind the RV. They have cool things for families with kids, A jumping pillow, playground, game room, pool, and a kids cabin. Great place if you don't have kids as well. This place was quiet except for the trains that are coming through all day and night. We stayed for 14 nights and never got used to the train noise. It's not the campground's fault so I gave them a high score due to the great service and clean bathrooms and showers.
