Beautiful barn inside and outside and simply a beautiful site for any big gathering of family and friends.

WOW! The Big Yellow Barn is the secret gem of the Bozeman wedding industry. The views speak for themselves, many of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they have been to (this is all due to the impeccable views of the Bridgers from this venue!).

The real cherry on top was Cindy and Brad. It’s rare to find such a responsive, attentive, and kind venue hosts. Cindy replied to all emails within 24 hours (typically within hours!). Cindy and Brad hosted very thorough walkthroughs, took the time to sit down with us and discuss the contract, and provided helpful insights.

The day wouldn’t have been what it was without the big yellow barn, Cindy, and Brad. We hope to see you guys around town, thank you so much for everything!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience hosting our wedding at Big Yellow Barn. Cindy and Brad the owners were so responsive and helpful throughout the entire process, providing us lists of recommended vendors and helping us with logistics. The facilities at the Barn including the bridal suite, bathrooms, and catering kitchen are top notch. And you simply won't get a better view of the Bridger mountains at another venue close to Bozeman. Couldn't recommend the Big Yellow Barn more.

I’ve photographed a few weddings at the Big Yellow Barn over the years and it’s a great Bozeman barn wedding venue option for hosting your celebration.

Situated 10 miles north of Bozeman, the big yellow barn looks out to a prominent unobstructed view of Ross Peak and the surrounding Bridger Mountains. Take some time with your wedding photographer during the “golden hour” to walk the grassy property. It’s a perfect, clean mountain backdrop for wedding portraits.

The barn itself has plenty of space for you and your guests. My clients had the catering downstairs and the flow to feed their guests via buffet worked really well to get everyone through. The upstairs barn loft is massive - lots of room for seating your guests for dinner and a spacious epicenter for your wedding dance floor. In between songs, you and your guests can mingle out on the elevated deck and lawn. Overall, it serves as a really great layout.

The Big Yellow Barn is a popular wedding venue in Bozeman area for good reason. Inquire early and you won’t be disappointed.

We got married here July 2022. This was the first venue we looked at (in 2019 initially) and with some life changes and the pandemic, we pushed the wedding out a year twice. We hadn’t reserved anything yet, we’d just met with Cindy and got the details. I will admit I was not great about keeping her in the loop regarding our date but she was very patient and reached out to check in with me a few times which I really appreciated.

If you’re looking to get married here, definitely look closely at the contract, their expectations and talk with your caterer/vendors about the location. This is a historic building in the midst of farmland so they have to have rules and expectations to ensure the safety and of the building and the guests (eg no candles, no confetti or flower petals, music off at 10, guests out at 11, no full kitchen for catering, no nails or tape on the walls). We were perfectly fine with all of this and so were our guests and I do not believe any of it was unreasonable given the importance of keeping the neighbors happy and maintaining the integrity of this historic building and property. Cindy was an exceptional communicator which is so important during the planning process.

One of the best (and unexpected) parts about our experience with them was that due to some issues with planning, we didn’t have a bar service lined up. BYB requires all the insurance and licensing info to be provided (to ensure safe and legal provision of alcohol) before the wedding; it was 3 weeks to our wedding and we were still waiting to hear from our coordinator on getting a bartender. I was panicking at that point to told Cindy what was going on and she immediately called me. She had spoken to an excellent vendor that she has worked with and they were willing to squeeze us in, very last minute. This was truly above and beyond what she had to do and I was so incredibly grateful for her help with that.

The day of the wedding they did not hover or interfere at all but they were easily reachable and ready to jump in if needed. They communicated their expectations very clearly so there were no surprises afterward.

The backdrop of the mountains is incredible and the building itself is stunning. The bathrooms and bridal suite and modern and comfortable. We didn’t need much for decoration since it’s so lovely on its own. All of our guests loved it and we had a great time. Our experience with Cindy and the Big Yellow Barn was perfect.

Did a walkthrough of this GORGEOUS barn with the sweetest couple in hopes of booking a Summer wedding. They are extremely knowledgeable with the industry and well oriented with other vendors. Welcomed my ill mother and 4 young kids in for a tour and treated us as family. I would recommend for every bride to view and consider I Do's at the Barn. I religiously read every review of venues. I know not everyone can be pleased; I'm a tough cookie - I know what I want and Cindy was so accomodating. Give them a call I promise no regrets.

Unfortunately, we had a similarly frustrating experience to what others have written.

A wedding scheduled for a date that lined up with the peak of covid cases, we were thrilled to have such a beautiful venue but didn't want to place our loved ones at risk so we attempted to reschedule. We were offered a middle of the week wedding the following year or none at all. We understood that the owners likely had other future weddings scheduled on weekends so we just asked for our money back and were told no. We couldn't have our money back and couldn't reschedule to another weekend.

The owners seemed very kind up until the point that it affected their bottom line. We had asked to reschedule months in advance and were told no. Sadly we have yet to reschedule our dream wedding.

Before scheduling an event at the Big Yellow Barn I would consider how flexible you are willing to be, the owners will definitely not be the flexible ones.
