Wine Bar Blackbird reviews
14The pizza is insane! Definitely recommend the pizza! The roasted squash is also very good!
Some of the best food in downtown. Food portions are taking a hit these days though. Apparently they don't kick cowboys out, so it will always be my Bozeman favorite.
Lovely atmosphere. We almost always end up getting pizza. You can't go wrong if you get some apps and pizzas.
I had a great experience here. I got a seat at the bar looking into the kitchen and it was very entertaining to watch the dinner service go down while dining. The food was delicious, unpretentious, humble cooking. The dishes are very simple and let the cooking techniques and ingredients speak for themselves.
Food was really good - we got several small plates: burrata (great), winter salad (great), delicata squash (good), and short rib meat balls (great). Wine and mock tails were good. Vibes are cozy. My only critiques are that they really pack the place and it felt overcrowded and loud, and that it’s a little pricey. We didn’t have to wait for 2 but for bigger parties I think a reservation is wise. We’d come back.
Been coming here for years. Love the concept but feel it just falls short in a few areas.
1. How do you have a menu that is considered Italian and have a wine list that is mostly Australian? Italian wine, at least a Chianti, should be available by the glass. But the wine list here continues to miss the mark.
2. Service - good but definitely inconsistent
3. Only three pasta dishes. So like others have commented, it’s more a pizza joint with a few other options.
This restaurant has such potential but I don’t think we will be coming back… which is disappointing as it was top of our list.
Menu is mostly pizza, and the pizza we had was pretty good, but there was room for improvement. (It was a little too sweet, and a bit too oily/greasy.) Pasta was also pretty good. Appetizers were simple but tasty. Dessert was very good, with a good selection. Service was very good.
A friend and myself went to dinner and my friend wanted to order the Tagliatelli but without the pesto sauce because she has a severe nut allergy. We were told by the wait staff that the chef would not remove the sauce and she would have to order something else. She even stated that all she wanted was the tagliatelli pasta with a little olive oil and was again told no, the chef would not alter the dish. Very disappointing that a chef feels his food is too important to accommodate a medical condition
I have 3 words for you… Wood. Fired. Oven. *drool* Mouthwatering flavors in every dish. I love sitting at the bar overlooking the kitchen and watching the magic happen. This talented team serves up deliciousness dish after dish. The pizzas are absolutely incredible, the meatballs and fresh bread in marinara is *chef’s kiss* and the drinks are delicious. Make sure Blackbird is on your list when dining in Bozeman.
Highly popular place to go in downtown…had an awesome pasta plate with a bottle of wine. Surprised to see/hear live music inside. Service was great and I saw a lot people eating pizza so it must be good.
Fun setting, reasonably priced, and awesome staff. This is a great date place that won't break the bank.
Strong 7/10. Great service. The pork bolagnese Bianca had a nice but simple taste and a normal sized portion that I could finish. Surprisingly light meal.
Goat liver pate was decent with a surprisingly mild taste.
Basque Cheesecake was okay. Not much flavor from the black. Topping tasted like cherry Chobani fruit on bottom in a bad way.
Blackbird hits aesthetic and service right on the head. Sometimes the vegetables and apps take backseat and dont have the wow factor other dishes have. Carrots were dissapointing. Everything else was A1!
By the time we arrived at Blackbird, we had been on the road for 11 days between MN and BC. We had eaten a variety of delicious foods along the way, but the kale salad and pizza Bianca we enjoyed here was right up there for best meal of our trip. Thank you!
