What a great time! Our guide Phil was simply fantastic! Patient, professional, and fun! We had a great day on the river and I highly recommend!

We used 3 different guides for the Bitterroot, Blackfoot and Clark Fork rivers in October 2023. Each river provided a different surroundings and fishing style. All the guides did a great job and put out 110% effort. One guide chose a beat that was just too long for the day so we spent too much time rowing and traveling at the end of the day to catch up vs fishing. The Bitterroot was the least producer and less favorite of the 3 rivers. But in total, the guide service was top notch. We will hire them again.

Rich was our guide and super patient with my 9 year old. He put us on the fish and we did our best to get them to the boat. I caught two of my PBs with his help. I hope to get on the water with this outfitter again.

Diane and I are from north Georgia where the trout fishing is pretty good, but perhaps not quite as spectacular as some of the great fishing we've enjoyed in Montana over the years. However, we still had a big bucket list item not fulfilled and that was to fish the storied waters in the Missoula area. We thank Blackfoot River Outfitters for helping us with a great time fishing some of these great streams. We couldn't have asked for three better guides.

Matt Ehrich guided us for a wade trip guide on Rock Creek. We caught lots of fish including a 20 incher that was among the thirty landed by Diane. I guess I can't fault Matt that I only landed half as many, since that's not unusual. We finished the day with Matt in Philipsburg enjoying time with the locals. Matt is an excellent guide and just a heck of a nice guy who was enjoyable to spend the day with.

We had read and heard much about the Blackfoot River and our float trip lived up to our expectations. Our excellent guide, Rich Wachs, put us on fish at a pace to both enjoy the fishing and the scenery. Rich was also excellent company who was kind enough to join us for a few hours after a full day on the river.

Our third day was a tough choice between the Bitterroot River and Clark Fork. I don't think you can go wrong with with either. Our excellent guide, Robert Quinlan, helped us choose Clark Fork. I can say that we've never had a guide that worked harder to put us on fish. Lots of heavy rowing round trips through eddy coves yielded results and a sudden Trico hatch with quick rig changeup gave me some non stop action for about an hour. Robert was also great company and generously joined us for a few hours when we came off the river.

We had a wonderful time fishing and visiting the Missoula area. We hope to return and fish with you again. We enthusiastically recommend BRO and all of our guides.

The people of Blackfoot Rivers treat you right. I've been going with them (with six years off) since 1995. John Herzer has been my go to guy since then. We had John for two days and Chris for another two. These guys are top notch. They see you doing something wrong they'll correct you. They get you to the fish, and work had for you. Many times rowing against the river current to fish a run several times. We fished the Bitterroot and Blackfoot rivers, Caught many fish, and many between 16 and 20 inches. Hats off to all those at Blackfoot River Outfitters.

My son and I went on a two day fly fishing trip with Guide Josh McKown. Hands down the best fly fishing guide I have ever fished with. He made it a 5-Star experience. I have never fished with a Guide that constantly went out of his way to make sure we were catching fish and having a wonderful day. I would highly recommend requesting Josh McKown. You will not regret it.

I cannot say THANK YOU enough to our guide Robert. What an amazing experience! Absolutely awesome fishing, scenario and hospitality the entire trip. Robert was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding history, which made the trip even more enjoyable.

First time fishing with BFRO and in the area and was such a great experience. Josh did such and outstanding job guiding my wife and I. I caught 4 different species of fish including a two northern Pike which are evasive and were dispatched. The third broke me off with those teeth. Just a great all around trip, highly recommend these folks.

It was my first time floating, and it was so amazing we went a second day. Hunter was outstanding. Super patient with this newbie. We'll be back and highly recommend!

I took the two hour introduction class with Noelle which was very informative. She is a great teacher. Then my son and I took an all day trip on the Blackfoot guided by Phil. We had a great day; Phil was. Very patient, helpful, and pleasant to be with. And a great lunch! I’d highly recommend these guys.

Just completed a 2-day float on the Blackfoot with Chad Z, and wanted you to know that we had a great time. Despite low water conditions and warm temps, Chad put us on some nice fish, working really hard to give us the best opportunity for hooksups. Our Dad has always dreamed of fishing in Montana so for his retirement we booked a multi day float trip through Blackfoot River Outfitters. Despite some adverse weather conditions our guides did a phenomenal job getting us on the fish and made a special effort to ensure it was the trip of Dad’s dreams. Hunter was an exceptionally teacher and worked tirelessly not only navigating the rivers but ensuring the rods were always setup to give us the best chance of success. We are now planning another trip to bring our wives up here and will be using Blackfoot River Outfitters again. Thank you again to Hunter and Ryan for all the awesome memories. See y’all again soon.
