Blue Bay Campground, Polson MT

I had high hopes due to the previous reviews. Most of the campground is under construction and what’s left is littered with trash. The day use area has empty cans, old socks, cigarette butts, I could go on. We chose a site and there were used q-tips and toilet paper near the path to the beach. I am sad that it’s barely summer and this place is completely trashed. I personally threw away so much trash from the beach areas. While we were here there were kids running all over, blasting music, using the bathrooms as a playhouse which was annoying when you wanted to actually use the bathroom. I only stayed here because I am on a long road trip across the country and if I hadn’t already driven 10 hours to get here I would have left.

Beautiful location, right on the shores of the lake! Doesn't have a working bathroom near the campground, only honey pots. Water can be taken from the lake to clean dirty dishes

The grounds are unkempt and the whole campground is a total mess. Tall grass unmowed, beach is littered with debris. Been visiting here for several years and have never seen this place look so bad at the beginning of summer season. Be careful around the ground keeper. He was a total jerk today and I would be cautious because he has one heck of a bad attitude. Claimed he was the manager of the place when only he is the ground maintenance man. His attitude was bad enough for me to report him to the Tribe. I live across the street from Bluebay and am allowed free access to the beach. All Tribe members are supposed to have this accommodation. He threatened to physically "Throw me off the property ". I had three small children with me and they were all frightened because of his threats and behavior. I only hope that upper management that oversees this place will take notice and replace this individual.

Beautiful area! The bathrooms were locked, guess you have to rent them. Also got swimmers itch. Might come back!

What an amazing lake! We were able to float on our paddle boards for hours because it was so smooth and quiet.

The homes right on the water are a really cool setting.

We were lucky to stay in this incredible campground and got a spot without a reservation, thankfully, and the check in gal was helpful and after chatting we were able to get a great spot right next to the water. It was a great setting and we were really lucky to find an open camp spot.

The best. Most beautiful place that is just a part of my heart. Been going ever since I can remember.

Great fishing spot with a fish gutting station. Great swimming with 2 or 3 docks. Boat loading dock. Camping is excellent when they allow it.havent been this year due to the pandemic. I have a lot of memories from this place. From summer camps to family camp out reunions! Blue bay is the best.around!

Went to Blue Bay campground it was comfortable and fun to be there.my grand kids had fun I enjoyed watch the swim and just play in the water the weather was sunny and hot.

Not the most clean campground. There were a couple bathrooms out of service so the ones that were open were used a lot. There were some loud campers on the weekends but during the week it was really quiet. The very best thing about this campground is direct lake access to a rocky beach from your campsite. Everything is truly first come, first served which was perfect for us. Not a bad place to stay if you don’t have a reservation somewhere else on the lake within the busy state parks.

The fishing tournament brings in great revenue but campers don't like them very much. Motion sensor lighting could improve pitch black night driving around campground.

Not only is it a beautiful place the staff is extremely friendly and the facility is clean and well maintained. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well supplied.

Enjoy the location for me n my family since its tribally own n my wife is a member of the tribe.
