I used this company in past trips and most recently in my trip to Kauai HI. Overall and from this last trip I was very satisfied with the car and with my experience with the staff from check-in to check-out. The car was in great driving condition, clean, and very nice looking. I did not have any problems with the car and no accidents, it drove good and we felt safe the whole time. The staff was very nice, helpful and respectful, and every interaction I had with them it was always satisfactory.

Our car smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke. We tried to call numerous times to reach someone and change cars and spent over 3 hours trying to reach a person. There is unfortunately no way to talk to anyone. We will never rent through them again.

We landed at the Bozeman airport and needed a large Suburban size vehicle for our ski trip. Most all of the other rental companies were THREE TIMES the price that Budget offered. I kept expecting something to happen during our process but everything went smoothly. We were more than happy with our rental experience.

I was overcharged $387 because the company said I did not return my rental on time. I had to spend 2 hours proving I dropped off my rental on time by providing flight records. Would avoid this company

Picked up car in Bozeman. Windshield washer fluid empty and could not clear windshield. We bought windshield washer fluid. Did not resolve the problem, as there appeared to be a problem with the motor. Was like this from the beginning. As we rented this on a one way rental to travel between ski resorts, there were situations that became dangerous with light snow and salt/moisture obstructing view on the windshield. Had to resort to pulling over and manually pouring windshield washer from a Gatorade bottle just to see. Had to do this several times. When we turned it in, the guy in SLC entered his details as 12345 so he couldn’t be tracked. He could care less about the issue Nd blamed “corporate”, saying they were a franchise or something. Very egotistical. Should have taken a picture of him. Zero accountability.

Rented a Toyota 4Runner from Bozeman for skiing week. Bald, summer tires made the vehicle perform poorly on the snowy road. Did not feel safe. Consider another outfit if you are actually looking for a 4x4 to handle actual treacherous roads.

Rented van in bozeman utah, van had bald tires and no washer fluid.i had to drive the van in snow for 5 days with bad ties and had to buy washer fluid and put it in so i could see.

Staff was nice and helpful at the counter picking up the vehicle. Wasn’t too thrilled about a Kia soul in Montana when it’s snowing and -20 below. Windshield wiper was busted and couldn’t clean off the windshield. Vehicle didn’t have an snow brush or ice scraper which made things difficult. Other than that car was clean and did what I needed it to do.

The Customer Service reps at BOZEMAN AIRPORT were Professional which made my check-in easy. And my return was Exceptionally easy too.
I will be a return customer in the future.

I rented for 2 days, was told the only way not to receive a fuel charge upon return was to bring a receipt proving I filled the tank. I did this, 10 days after return was still charged a fuel charge. Called customer service to get it removed, told them I had taken a photo of the receipt as proof, this is a hassle to the customer in my opinion

The car I rented (Toyota Forerunner) and the car I received (Ford Edge) are vastly different vehicles. One is a high clearance 4WD vehicle and the other is a AWD crossover car. I rented the Toyota because I was traveling in Montana and Wyoming in winter.

Worst of all.

The key fob locked itself in the car. No one answered the phone at the rental desk which was 15 minutes away from where I was staying. I got a ride there and found two people working the desk. Amazing they couldn't answer the phone since there was no one in the airport at that time. I thought they might have an extra key but they didn't and offered no help at all. When roadside assistance finally responded an hour later they were unable to get the remote system to unlock the door and did not have the access code to unlock the door with the car's keypad. I had to get a towing service to come and it cost me $85. I lost 4 hours of my vacation dealing with something that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Long story short! Pat the manager needs to work on his customer service skills!
The car I was given was recently wrecked and he had a attitude with me because I did not want to drive the wrecked car. A staff member told me I could leave the car parked and head down to customer service to get another, he then caught up to me to tell me that I had to take the car all the way to other end of the garage before I could go to customer service.

Document everything and honestly go elsewhere if you can. Our initial experience was positive but turned extremely sour after returning the vehicle resulting in hours of time emailing/on the phone and a credit card dispute with Budget at fault. We picked up a Ford Transit van for a group of us visiting Montana. The check out process was easy, however, there was absolutely no employee damage check before renting the vehicle. We were told by the woman at the check out desk where to pick up the vehicle and were told to take pictures of any damages before leaving the parking garage and those pictures would be proof of existing damage. Thankfully we did this. The van we rented had multiple existing cracks in the windshield which we took extensive photos of. We have rented other cars in mountain states where this is not uncommon to see so figured it was a known problem. We had the car for almost 2 weeks and returned the van with no issues the end of July 2022.3 months later (October) we received a letter in the mail stating we were going to be charged just under $700 for damage to the car which was not specified. I reached out to customer service and told them the pictures I had and they stated they would make sure I wasn’t charged and gave me a confirmation number. 3 weeks later my card was charged for the damages. This time I emailed and called Budget, attaching all photos, confirmation number etc. I was sent back an email reply addressed to the wrong person with a canned response in bad grammar and an attachment with my information stating they would refund the balance within 7 days. We were well into November by this point. No refund was issued and after calling customer service again they told me they couldn’t help me and to contact my credit card company since the refund should be there. I did this and had to put in a formal dispute with the fraud department and over a month later they were finally able to settle it with Budget and I got a refund. There was no formal apology or anything on Budget’s part. Not good business practices and not worth months of headache.

We rented a dark gray 2021 Toyota Camry SE. When we tried driving up a road to go hiking we started slipping. The tires have no traction at all. The suspension is shot. They don't maintain their rental vehicles. At least they gave us a free exchange

Vehicle not available for 1.5 hours after we had it reserved. Broken windshield, bald tires - was happy my group was alive after having to be towed to safety in this death trap of a vehicle.

Rented a four runner and when we got to the car the whole front of the car had been in an accident we were hesitant to take the car but they tried to downgrade us if we switched cars…. Then I had to argue to keep the banged up car and the manager did not even want to look at it…

Rented a car 12/17-12/23. Originally booked through Enterprise. They didn't have what we needed and sent to Budget. Dropped off the car 23rd at 4: 00am. Left my sunglasses in the glove compartment. Called the 23,24,25,26,27and 28th. Finally talked to someone. Used the automated system to get my receipt and they sent me the wrong one. I can't get any help from ANYONE with Budget. If you rent at this location.you will have a hardtime getting help.

The rental process was so easy, the car was amazing, the drop off process was easy and we were able to extend our rental with no issues! Definitely recommend Budget! Thank you!
