Bull River Campground, Kootenai National Forest reviews
10So I’ve been camping at this campsite for 12 years and this years camp hosts are terrible. They don’t keep the bathrooms clean and they are instantly accusatory of not paying fees when we had and not that friendly. The camp area is absolutely beautiful and we have always loved it there till these hosts took away from our experience.
Had a great time, absolutely loved that there was no phone service it was time to disconnect and get back to nature
This campground has been wonderful in the past as you can see from older reviews. But this recent trip we took at the beginning of June was less than stellar ONLY because of the camp hosts. The campground itself is still beautiful but the bathrooms are gross and the camp hosts are not being diligent at all about keeping them clean. Also the hosts were very scattered and seemed to be confused about whether you had paid and mixed up our tickets a few times. Maybe get different camp hosts and we will be excited to come back!
Stopped to let the dog out nice clean and gorgeous place fishing is good all-around gorgeous
Our stay was 4 nights at Bull River Campground. This campground is clean and maintained. There is a bear proof container for your food in each campsite and bear proof trash and recycle containers conveniently located around the upper and lower levels. Potable water spickets conveniently located. By the highway entrance is a public day use area with a boat ramp. There is access to the river on the lower level for you kayaks and canoes. Plenty of shade, we found a site with enough sun for our solar.
Great Campground and boat launch. Just a bit busier than some of the other places and close to the hwy (pros and cons).
Gorgeous camp grounds on the bull river. A little bit of traffic noise from the MT 200 but not horrible. Definitely recommend!
We have been staying at this campground each summer for three years now. This is the first year ever that we have had any interaction with the camp hosts. Usually, you don't even know they exist. Don and Louise are the hosts this year and they are over the top. They are some of the kindest, most welcoming and helpful people we've met. And I've never seen volunteers that work SOOOO hard! These guys are up from dawn to dusk, cleaning campgrounds, meeting and greeting, assisting guests with anything and everything. I've even seen Louise raking the walking paths around the place! They always have smiles on their faces. I didn't even know people like this existed as camp hosts! I only wish they were staying there next season too!
Great place.great hosts. Do be careful if boating.the tide changes quick and there is the old bridge (concrete) very shallow and you could hit you boat with it like I did.
