Bullwinkles Saloon & Eatery reviews
22Buyer beware! Our waitress was annoyed that we didn't want to sit directly next to the doors to the men's and lady's bathrooms to eat dinner, after waiting at least 25 minutes for a table! I don't eat outside my bathroom at home, and I'm certainly not going to pay to do it in a restaurant. They need to eliminate that table altogether, and come up with a room divider to hide those bathroom doors. We were placed in another section by the host who was probably also annoyed. Our new waiter was a first class schmoozer and a good salesman. He dutifully pushed the high end menu items. Too bad the food didn't live up to the hype. The "huckleberry margaritas " were tasty, but the $12.50 price tag left a sour taste in our mouths. The prime rib, ordered medium rare, arrived medium well, full of gristle and not worth anywhere near the $35 price tag (which also wasn't disclosed until the bill arrived). I honestly wouldn't have given $3.50 for it otherwise. My son ordered a burger and fries, which was good, but the cheese and bacon upcharge made it a $19 burger. Even so, it was delicious so I'd stick with that and a cold beer rather than fall victim to the tourist trap tactics. Lesson learned.
Good service, ambience and food. Just a little bit pricey. Be aware only 3 entrees are available before 4pm.
Wow, the food was great. Fresh apple pie for dessert, don't skip it. Service was great. Loved the train. Clean restrooms.
Long wait time to get a table. Long wait time for you to get the food. Very expensive. Meatloaf was very good, chicken Alfredo was horrible. Staff was very friendly.
Tourist trap.ordered bison burger, instead of juicy burger I got a dry froZen patty.the fries, how can you mess fries.well they did.probably frozen as well.price was ridiculous to make it worse.and I had stomach ache (my wife too)
The food was amazing and ALL of the staff were super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it if you are in the area!
We absolutely love coming there when we go to West Yellowstone. My kids are always entertained by the train and the food is good.
We didn't actually stop to eat here so this review isn't based off of the food, but I was getting some things from their liquor store next door and the man at the bar was extremely helpful. He answered all of my questions and made some really great suggestions. It was very good customer service!
We sat at the bar only for drinks. The bartender was nice but not attentive. We sat at the small bar for 5 minutes before she acknowledged us. Later in the evening she was busy chatting with other patrons and we simply decided to get our check and leave. We would have easily had two, maybe three, more drinks between us.
Also, the restaurant was extremely hot. It was noticeable as soon as we entered and the temperature didn't change while we were there.
The staff was vary kind and speedy but being Montana I expected the beef to be exceptional. My son ordered the chicken fried steak which looked like a frozen patty. My my husband got a aged Ribeye that had so much fat and tendon there was no steak on it. I got the mushroom fillet that was barely there. All for a ticket price that was not worth it!
The staff was awesome and really helpful. The food was AMAZING. I think it is funny that the have a train that goes around the top. My only complaint is that the booth was dim.
Usually a good place. Food was good. Bartender Kelly showed up to start her shift. She probably should have just stayed home. Very crabby to both co-workers and us customers. I felt like I was an inconvenience to her. I never experienced anything like it. I assume she is the daughter of the owner or why would she have that job. Not my fault you had dreams of acting but ended up bartending. Maybe get a boob job and be happy like Angela.
Best meal we've had here in West Yellowstone so far. We were not impressed with Madison crossing. The buffalo bar was good, but the food here was great
A fun old fashioned bar and the only real bar in west Yellowstone. Drinks are reasonable too. They are also slot machines there.
My ladyfriend's wellington was okay but my prime rib was poor. It was recommended to us, otherwise I would not have gambled on a 32$ piece of beef. I should be able to cut it with a spoon. 25% waste and lots of stringy, inedible parts to be chewed to get to the meat throughout the eye.
Beware the cheesecake: $9.
Beware the coffee: $3.50
Possibly that is why the menu was unavailable to me online.
Local steak in Montana should be cheap and diggity. Go to subway.
A nice place for good grub and a beer after a long day in Yellowstone. Quick service and nice atmosphere. Would visit again.
I loved this place and sad I couldn't stay in town longer to enjoy it more. Abby was a fantastic bartender, pouring us delicious Montana-esque vodka tonics (with huckleberry vodka), bison burgers are on point and they have a clean little built in casino and full liquor store there, too! What more can one ask for in a bar spot? !
Fast and Great Service, Friendly Service, Food was very good. One of the Best places to go eat around this area.
Great little place, nice ambiance and we coming staff. Good food at a fair price considering your at the entrance to Yellowstone N. P.
Great food and great service. The physical menus and the decor are very unassuming. Almost like a Denny's but the food is more upscale than that. My nephew loved the train going around the ceiling.
