Burnt Out Lodge reviews
2This place is pretty spectacular. The trip from a paved road is a solid 30 minutes and the adventurous drive down was a little difficult to maneuver in our Ford Focus, but if you’re careful you can manage it in a lower car. Follow the directions online as Google takes you to the washed out road. The lodge itself is incredible with its vault ceilings. Rooms were spacious and clean. The views from the location were jaw-dropping and the only sounds were nature. This would be a great location for a retreat of any kind or anyone hoping to escape the chaos of noisy city life. We only stayed one night, but wished we had booked longer to enjoy this little gem a bit longer.
This place was an unexpected gem on our road trip across the country. The architecture of the lodge is amazing. It’s entirely made of Douglas fir logs that had to be salvaged and used quickly after a forest fire. It’s in a beautiful setting in a valley next to a lovely creek. Immaculate, spacious rooms with very comfortable beds. Each room opens to the outside and has its own bath. The hosts, Ruth and Blick Drange are ranchers who were friendly and shared lots of information about raising cattle. It’s a 7 mile drive down gravel roads to get back to the lodge but we Easterners thought it was well worth the drive to get an authentic western experience in a gorgeous venue
