! This review is for anyone considering working at this motel!

This summer, I got a job offer from the chalet motel with the work and travel program. For those who do not know, I will briefly talk about the work and travel program. This program is a cultural exchange program in which university students from abroad experience American culture both by working and traveling.

On the first day I came to the motel, I told Eva that I wanted to go to accommodation as soon as possible because the journey was making me very tired. When I went to the room I was going to stay, I was in the shock, neither the room, this was the basement floor used for storage, there was only bunk beds here, there was not even a window here and she wanted 70 dollars per week for this accommodation. I will share the photos of accommodation.

We didn't have any fresh air in the basement and I told to Eva about the issue but she didn't provide any offer for solution. Therefore I reported the situation to my Work and Travel agency. They said that we can talk with your employer for that. However, she a lot of bullied to me after the call. My organization changed my job because of that. Also she didn't gave my last paycheck. That was my right. I worked there she should have give my last paycheck. She said lie about it.

Eva was the most perfect host for us. We were unfortunately turned back from entering Canada in Montana and had no where to go. Eva welcomed us with open arms, no reservation, no time limits and amazingly flexible with how long we stayed. She checked in on us frequently (even offered us some wine glasses during a time of need). The genuine care we received was phenomenal. The rooms were all unique and very well upkept. As a family ran facility, the Chalet goes above and beyond expectations. Whitefish is a very pricey area to stay but their prices are reasonable and you may even be able to get a discount or two if you pay in cash. Plus the mountain views are really to die for. We loved our stay there and plan on returning when we visit the area again. Thank you Eva for all of your love and help!

The owner is amazing and friendly, very charming and welcoming. The hotel rooms are clean, sleek, and well maintained. Bathroom was super clean, beds are comfy, and the grounds are cute. Everything is well maintained. They are pet friendly which is a plus. It is a vintage gem in Whitefish amongst the chain hotels. Would definitely recommend staying here. It is a lovely place for a quiet getaway.

Clean rooms, coffee bar, comfy beds, cute little hangout area out front, hot water for a nice shower. Eva was so sweet and able to get us in last minute. Close to town. Definitely recommend this little hidden gem when you’re in Whitefish!
*there is no pool or spa right now, which is fine.just sharing for those who are reserving this space specifically for that amenity*

As I am also an independent motel owner I was thoroughly impressed with the attention to small detail. The personal touches by the owner are noticed and considering how many rooms are there, you can tell they work hard and have a lot of passion. Rooms are amazingly clean and well decorated with good amenities. The only place I would stay at near Kalispell and Glacier.

CHECK-IN: Friendly and fast check-in. Had a great chat with the owner (Eva). Apparently this is the last of the family-run hotels in the area and that's a shame because we often prefer those types of places. I loved all the flowers and the 2 cats and a dog.
There was a firepit and picnic benches and chairs outside the rooms.
ROOM: We were given a room on the first floor (of 2 floors).
The room was nice.
A good size, VERY clean, well-laid out. Felt homey.
IN-ROOM EXTRAS: Clock/microwave/in-room coffee/mini fridge.
TUB/SHOWER: Great; quick to fill up.
BED: 4 pillows per bed; a nice quiet dark and comfy sleep.
BREAKFAST: No
PRICE: on a Friday in Sept 2022 (including taxes) for 2 adults, 2 beds: about $220.
This was "sticker shock" to us (having come from an area where hotels are usually $100-$130/night but this hotel was actually the least expensive for this now terribly inflated-price area)

The Chalet Inn's large suite was a convivial, spacious, conveniently located and reasonably priced oasis for our family of four while we were visiting Glacier National Park. We have two teenagers who each prefer their own bed and this was an excellent alternative to booking two separate rooms. We enjoyed having a table, microwave and refrigerator that made meals easier, found the beds very comfortable and appreciated the colorful, eclectic decor, the ample towels, the air conditioning that kept us pleasantly cool during a heat wave and the quietness even though the inn is on a main road. Thanks, Chalet Inn, for a wonderful stay!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night before heading back to the airport and I cannot wait to come back to Whitefish and stay here again! The room was very clean, beds were comfortable, and Eva the owner is an extremely kind person and was very welcoming. It is also in a great location and about 30 minutes from the West entrance of Glacier National Park.
I have 0 complaints about this cute little hotel. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The Chalet Inn is exactly what you'll want to really get away. Family run business. Unlimited towels. Excellent mattresses. Easy walk or bikeride into town. Parking for days. Car for rent on site. Very reasonably priced.

Clean, charming and very close to Glacier National Park. Our grandchildren thought it was very nice, spacious and cute when we opened the door. Brooklyn loved the hanging chair hammock at the door entrance.

We loved this charming Inn. The Chalet Inn was our favorite stay during our 12 day road trip with our boys 10 and 7. We stayed 2 nights in the Family Suite and it was so great. Clean and cozy with room for the kiddos to play. Eva (the owner) has added all the little touches to these rooms to make it cozy and sweet. She was also very helpful in helping us plan our day at Glacier NP and where to have dinner. If we are ever in Whitefish again.we will definitely stay in Eva's beautiful lil corner of Montana again!

Way to expensive for what amounts to a roadside motel. The air conditioning worked but way too loud. The tv remote didn’t work. Check in was a hassle because we got there at 3: 00pm and the door was locked. There’s a sign to ring the doorbell but the doorbell was ripped off. We phoned but no one picked up. Then we saw another sign that said checkin at 4: 00 until 10: 30. We waited until 4: 40. The door unlocked but still no one around. We rang the bell on the desk but no response. We phoned and eventually someone picked up and came to the counter to let us in.

Hands down the cleanest and most unique boutique hotel we have ever stayed at!
The owner has added tables and benches and even a fire table to enjoy a drink outside!
Friendly staff…
All around good!
The walk to downtown is about a mile and makes for a beautiful stroll!

Wouldn’t recommend. Although the room was alright the shower drain cover slid off to reveal a black hole in the tub. This made me feel uncomfortable while showering. Customer service was very disappointing. We accidentally made 2 reservations because the first reservation didn’t show up in my email and we were unable to call to confirm because we were around glacier national park with no cell service or wifi. So when we arrived she charged us for 2 rooms not even a cancellation fee but the full fee. When I tried to explain what happened I did not get an understanding or empathetic response. I got the impression she thought I was lying when she said “that sucks. You should have called earlier I would have figured something out. ” However I did try to call early that day (11 am) and was told she can’t do anything for me because she wasn’t in the office. Although I always prefer to support small businesses but I would not treat a customer like that and I will probably not be going back there. I found her customer service lacking. Also when I asked about the pool, her tone sounded sarcastic and said “we don’t have a pool anymore, you should know that if you’ve been on the website. ” I’d recommend staying somewhere more welcoming.

We got to the motel at 4 to check in, to find the office locked & a note on the door with a phone number if help was needed. We phoned, left a msg, waited 15-20 min, no reply. We finally knocked on one of the motel doors that was partially opened, found the "manager" he was "filling in" for the week. He found a room for us, the room was nice enough, had everything we needed except a TV remote & the door lock & the door itself were EXTREMELY hard to open, wouldn't want to have to get out in a hurry! I tried to track down "the manager", again, couldn't be found. Supposed to have continental breakfast, it wasn't mentioned by "the manager" decided we'd buy breakfast elsewhere.
It may be a nice place to stay if the actual owner/manager were in charge but we wouldn't take the chance again unfortunately. Very disappointing.

A great place to stay if you are visiting Glacier National Park. Don't be fooled as it might look like any other motel from outside. As their name says, it is a boutique hotel. The owners have put a lot of thought to make the rooms a better place for travelers. The best part was that there were plenty of plug points to charge your all your photography gear. I can't stress this enough as even the super high end hotels barely have enough places to charge your stuff. Everything inside the room was well thought out to make the stay as convenient as possible. They have 2 chairs, 1 big table and couple of small tables in the room. They also have a small fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker in every room. The beds are comfortable. The AC and the heater work well.
My only gripe is about limited parking. Parking is a little right, specially if you are driving a large SUV or mini-van. Parking can be a little hard to find right in front of your room during busy times.
The owner is wonderful to talk to and cares deeply about customer service. We would absolutely stay here again if we visit Glacier National Park again.

Edit: I included a picture of my Orbitz customer service chat window from today (08/30/21) that shows the Chalet Inn is denying the refund. Orbitz called the Chalet Inn to advocate for a refund on my behalf, and was told no. Orbitz is fully willing to do what they can, but any refund is completely up to the Chalet Inn.

The day before we were to check in, our daughter tested positive for covid and was required to quarantine for 10 days a few hours south of Whitefish. My wife and I didn't want to bring a covid positive person to the hotel (she was in quarantine anyways). Given the circumstances, I hoped the Chalet Inn would give us a credit voucher for maybe half of our $600 reservation.

We first called Orbitz and were told we needed to contact the Chalet Inn directly. We called and explained the situation to a front desk clerk and were told if we cancelled we'd lose everything. I later called and spoke to another front desk clerk and was told I needed to speak to Eva the owner. Eva was not available, so I agreed to call back. I called the Chalet Inn a total of 29 times over the course of the next 5 days. The phone was answered 3 of those times (Eva wasn't available), and I got voicemail every other time. I left 3 or 4 voicemails, I emailed the Chalet Inn from their website and even sent a Facebook Message. No response whatsoever. Now, the days of our reservations are gone - and I still have heard nothing from Eva.

I'm completely disappointed with the Chalet Inn at this point; I've never experienced anything like this.

I hate to give a bad review, cause the Inn looks like a nice place, and looking at the website it seems Eva is doing a great job fixing the place up! I'm upset we weren't given an opportunity to work things out, and ultimately to experience the Chalet Inn.

Cute & clean place! Easy check in & close to downtown whitefish. We stayed here while we were exploring Glacier National. A little far from the park but it was the perfect balance of having some city life after a day of hiking! Would definitely stay here again!
