Itch-Kep-Pe Park reviews
15We loved this place! We road-tripped for our honeymoon and were very glad to find this safe, quiet campground to pitch our tent for the night for FREE! So kind of the city to provide this. Very grateful to the good people of Montana!
Nice camp spots. We went into the back section. Only pit toilet but it was okay. Not as quiet as we thought it would be- trains, some traffic noise. But better than I-90 noise. Like the donation system. Some longer term campers but very neat. Would stay again.
Zero stars. If you stay here, bring a weapon, b/c you may well get dog attacked. The city's leash law is not obeyed, & especially, isn't enforced. You're on your own.
Free campground, donations accepted and appreciated
Pretty quiet, the restroom buildings were locked but there are clean equipped porta potties
We stayed overnight. It was nice and quiet. The sites are far apart with large cottonwoods. Yellowstone river access.
Great campground to get away for the weekend and close enough to Billings that we don't need to take extra time off of work.
It's wonderful that the town has a free campground so close to everything in such a beautiful area. I believe you stay for 7 nights every 30 days. More places should do this to draw in visitors.
Good spot to camp with grass and trees around. Lots of space and the sites are a bit more spread out then done does we've been to. Our 38 foot motorhome was able get around easily and backed into a site just fine.
Really nice place. Big shade trees and in town. Made a donation as it's free. You can stay 7 days in 30.
There should be a 10-star option! My mom and I drove the 500 miles from home just to rock hound in the Yellowstone river. I would easily do it again, any day of the week. The porta potties were the cleanest and best smelling I've ever used! Dogs are welcome if on a leash, and they have a great fire pit at each site. I am going again soon, and recommend to everyone.
This is our 3rd year visiting this city park. Review is for the first se tion of the park as we didn't spend time in the back sections. The restrooms are closed due to storm damage this spring
However there are 4 Portapotty's I'm place. Fresh water is still available. All sites have a picnic table and fire rings. The park was clean, grass freshly mowed. City staff working in the park are friendly. 7 day stay limit. Lots of shade, most sites can take a 40 ft rv. Sites at pretty level. City police patrol the park a couple times a day. We willbe back.
Nice little place to park and enjoy fishing or checking out the Yellowstone river. My husband and I are truckers. There was room for our truck and 40 ft trailer to park for the evening and get some much needed sleep. It’s very quiet and lots of people/ family’s camping. Both tent and tv camping. There are bathrooms.
This campground is a gem. Quiet, spacious, well maintained, and donation-based! It's essentially a low spot along the yellowstone river with massive cottonwoods, easy to get in and out of and very peaceful, with a grocery store and hardware store nearby if you need something. When I was there, they also had a massive pile of free firewood.pretty wonderful place to spend a few peaceful days (they have a 7-day camping limit).
Great in the middle of nowhere place to stay. No call service. Our site was right next to river with a great place to hang hammock right next to river.
