Lamar Valley Cabin, Silver Gate MT

Wonderful vacation! The cabin was very clean, well equipped and had beautiful views. We truly enjoyed our time in the area.

The Silver Falls cabin is the perfect place to stay in Silver Gate with easy access to the best wildlife region of Yellowstone, the Lamar Valley. We had phenomenal sightings of bears, moose, and wolves, as well as the more common species, by getting into the park at first light. In addition to its superb and peaceful location, the cabin itself is attractively designed with lots of light and furnished and equipped for all you might need to be fully comfortable. Without a doubt, this will be our choice for return trips to the "American Serengeti". Thanks, Karen and Jeff!

Great location! Very easy process to book. Excellent relevant instructions! Cabin was perfect for our 7 person group! Would definitely stay there in the future!

I hesitate to write this. Because sometimes you want to keep those special locations a secret. This is one of those places, a true sanctuary and the first place I seek to book when visiting Yellowstone - which I do multiple times a year. Other reviewers have left 5 star reviews with details if you want that - I would encourage you to trust the 5 star rating and "discover" this place on your own.

Perfect vacation. This cabin has all you will ever need for an amazing trip to Yellowstone, including moose and bison right out the back window. Everything you will need is already in the house so all you need is you need to bring is your suit case and desire to see beautiful scenery and an abundance of wildlife. The hosts were great to work with and super quick with responses when questions were asked. I would highly recommend this cabin and will be returning next spring for sure.

Comfortable. Quiet. Everything we (4 people) needed for a four night stay to explore the nearby park on skis.

Our group of wildlife watchers from western NY stayed at the Lamar Cabin for 10 days in December. It was our base camp for our excursion into the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone. The cabin was spacious, well-equipped, well-furnished and cozy. With outside temperatures in the minus teens, it was a warm and welcoming to come in from watching wolves all day to such a cabin. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped with “tools” for our discerning cook. I highly recommend the cabin for family or group gatherings at the doorstep of Yellowstone.

This is our 4th year staying at the Lamar Valley Cabins. Depending on the size of our groups, we may stay in one or both of the cabins. With that said, we have always had an exceptional experience here. Both cabins are well-stocked for cooking in a "semi-gourmet" fashion, the rooms are spacious and immaculately clean and the close proximity to Yellowstone National Park makes Lamar Valley Cabins our only choice for excursions into our nation's first national park. Winter access is via a plowed road from Gardiner, MT to Cooke City, MT. This is the only road open in winter that accesses Yellowstone. The driveway into the cabins is plowed and easily accessible to vans and cars. Earth Spirit Excursions will stay in no other place!

Again, our group of wildlife watchers stayed in both the Silver Falls and the Lamar cabins for our winter Yellowstone excursion. As usual, they did not disappoint. Both cabins were exceptionally clean and well stocked with additional blankets, pillows and other necessities. In addition, a new heating stove was installed in the Lamar which added to our comfort as well as outdoor grills. The kitchens are both well equipped and fully functional with up-to-date appliances and accessories. But nothing can compare to the views, location and wildlife that we enjoyed at the cabins! To have all the amenities as well as the scenic benefits of being in the Yellowstone region is impossible to adequately describe. Around the cabins, there are hosts of wildlife: foxes, bison, moose, elk, pine martens and winter species of birds. Returning to the cabins after being in the field all day (especially in the frigid winter) was a pure joy, with all of us sharing experiences of the day. Our hosts were accommodating and flexible with regard to all of our needs. I highly recommend these cabins if you're looking for complete accommodations close to the NE Yellowstone entrance and access to the wildlife-rich Lamar Valley. Lamar Valley Cabins, again, receive my highest recommendation. Thank you, Karen and Jeff for being such great hosts.

The Lamar cabin was amazing, very cozy and spacious with spectacular mountain views. We had a great time and it felt like home. The entire valley was beautiful, so peaceful and serene.
Unfortunately, the North and Northeast entrances to Yellowstone Park were closed as a result of flooding. However, when I made the reservation at first, I didn’t realize that the drive to Yellowstone through Cody to the East entrance was so long and time consuming. Thus, we had to leave three days sooner than our check-out date, and then instead stayed at a hotel in Cody in order to have closer access to Yellowstone. Overall, the cabin was still a great experience!
