Lazy Bear Outfitters, Missoula MT

We had a great fishing trip with Lazy Bear. Our guide, Kai, was a great teacher and clearly has a passion for sharing his knowledge of fishing with others. We enjoyed it so much that we’re looking at getting our own fly rods. Looking forward to the next trip!

Great trip. Very knowledgeable guide who knew river, fishing holes and could coach a first timer on techniques. Great first experience fly fishing and beautiful location.

Aiden guided my husband and I on the Bitterroot river. Aiden knew where the fishing spots were and was able to find us some fish! Aiden was knowledgeable about fishing and was able to answer any questions I had about the area.

Communication with Lazy Bear was top notch! Some last minute scheduling issues came up with our original guide and Lazy Bear communicated the scheduling issues and found a solution. I was kept in the loop on all things.

I would definitely recommend Lazy Bear and plan to use them on our next trip to Missoula.

It's hard to find good guides like these folks! I grew up in Eastern Washington and have fished the Bitterroot probably half a dozen times with different outfitters but I've never found anyone as good as them. I caught 12 fish and made life long friends. What more could you ask for? ! We'll be back for sure!

I recently had the pleasure of going on a fly fishing trip with Lazy Bear Outfitters, and it was the best fishing trip I've ever had! I was paired with guide GP, and he was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the Bitterroot River and the fish that live there, and he was able to help me catch more fish than I ever thought possible. We found Leroy Brown!

GP was also a great teacher. He took the time to explain the different techniques I needed to use, and he was always patient and encouraging. I learned so much from him, and I'm now a much better fly fisherman because of it.

The booking process was also very smooth and easy. I was able to book my trip on the phone, and the staff was very helpful and responsive to all of my questions.

When we arrived at the river, GP was ready for us with all of the gear we needed. He also had a delicious lunch packed for us. We spent the entire day fishing, and we caught so many fish! We even caught a few rainbow trout that were over 20 inches long!

Overall, I had an absolutely amazing experience with Lazy Bear. GP was an incredible guide, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fly fishing trip in the Missoula area. I will definitely be booking again next summer!

Came as a beginner and left HOOKED.my friend and I spent a half day with GP (aka king of the Bitterroot Valley) and lucked out on both fish and weather. GP made our whole girls trip… he was patient, kind and a great teacher while also being fun and informative. Overall Lazy Bear was amazing and communicative. Couldn’t recommend more! Be back in the spring.

Pulled 10 + feet of trout into the boat with Aidan. These guys know what they are doin and its great fun learning to fly fish from them.

Had so much fun and learned a ton with GP! Couldn't have asked for a better guide and experience. Also never done a guided trip with a dog before, that was amazing. If you're a dog person make sure you let them know when you book your trip. Can't wait to go again next year with Lazy Bear!

Booking with Lazy Bear was legit the best decision we made on our Montana trip. We did a half day on the Bitterroot with GP (and his awesome pup Lady May) and instantly regretted not booking a full day.

GP is the perfect mix of fun and laid back but clearly a pro and a great teacher. This was my second time fly fishing and Blakes first, and even in not ideal conditions we both caught multiple fish.
