Livingston / Paradise Valley KOA Holiday reviews
18I stayed here Labor Day weekend and was very displeased with the service. My family has stayed here for decades and hasn't had a problem. With the new shift to corporate, they now charge for additional cars. Even though I stayed in a two-room cabin that fits six people they charged if you brought more than one vehicle and were frequently complaining about where we parked or drove. From day one they were trying to find reasons to kick us out. We got a noise complaint on the first night and were told if we got another one we would be kicked out with no refund. Even though we knew everybody around us and the people near us said they couldn't hear us. Another night my grandpa asked management why they had blocked one of the main roads and complained that it was difficult for him to back his truck and trailer out with the road being closed and they kicked him and my grandma out with no refund. Overall, the staff was very rude and nit-picky about everything. I definitely am not planning to come back.
This is a smaller campground that is located on an access road right next to highway 90. The people are nice and friendly. Not all of the spots have shade.
While the attendant and store personnel were quite nice, this was a horrible stay. My site was easily the worst one they have, it’s very small, lots of foot & vehicle traffic, so no privacy at all. Bathrooms are full of mildew, dead bugs, not very clean. Vehicles come in and out without regard to anyone’s safety, you’d think being in front of a kids play area, vehicles would slow down.
As a solo traveler, I’m usually given the worst sites, even though I’ve planned several months in advance. I guess I should expect it, or stay home. Won’t be back to this location ever.
The only ding and it’s not much of one is the entrance road. Could use more signage. The park is right on the river, our site (7) was level and getting in and out was easy. The park was clean and workers were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a 41ft 5th had to unhook.
Definitely not worth $160/night for the patio site on the river. Trees aren’t trimmed for clear access. No landscaping or maintenance. Very close proximity to your neighbor site. Main road to KOA park is dirt with lots of potholes. Driveway only has room for one vehicle at a time. Gravel sites where sewer and water line from hookup to coach has to lay partly in wet, not trimmed grass. Very small dog park at the entrance of the park along the main road and the very thin entrance road. I asked my husband what he thought and he said “disappointing”. Just not for us.
Great location, just ok sites. We were told that they are now part of the corporate KOA and will be having additional changes going forward. When we were there, the best spots were occupied by staff. A little odd. That said, the location was awesome. And the scenery was very pretty. However, it is the worst KOA staff I have dealt with … ever. They were rude and confrontational. We arrived early, and were very prepared to not be able to check in…but thought we would ask. At the counter, the woman looked at us and said “you do know it’s not even noon don’t you? ”. When the people we were traveling with asked about the size of the site because they have a big rig she told them that they were welcome to go look at the site and, if not satisfied, they could come back at 2 o’clock and get a refund if they didn’t like it because they don’t need our business. I really hope our experience isn’t typical… We stay at KOA’s frequently and have never had this kind of experience.
This location is really nice and the hosts are friendly but not very organized. I had 2 camping reservations but they could only find 1 BUT they were very accommodating on getting us into 2 cabins (especially after the monsoon rain we had just ridden thru). The ground are really nice - bathroom could have been a little cleaner but weren't gross. We were hoping to do a load of laundry but the debacle with trying to get quarters for the people in front of us just had me holding off until our next spot. I'm not sure why they don't just have a stocked change machine in the laundry room? They are located right on the river (although it runs quickly so there's no swimming) but its a great place to take a sunset selfie. I would stay here again.
Not really into the whole KOA scene but the cabins here made the difference. Most of the rv/tent sites are extremely close to eachother. You must provide your own blankets/sheets/pillows when renting a cabin.
Horrible experience at this KOA. We had a great time last year but the management changed this year. They have a bunch of new rules and they are extremely disrespectful trying to enforce them. The employees are constantly patrolling to see if anyone is doing anything wrong, such as parking somewhere for a brief second. As far as permanent parking, there were no correct spots in the eyes of the employees. You also have to pay a fee for more than one car for a cabin. At one point, against our consent, we received text messages that little kids are biking too fast around the campground. Part of our group was lightly conversing around a campfire at night and they manufactured a noise complaint and threatened to kick everyone out. There is no freedom at this campsite. I understand that rules are necessary, but they should be reasonable and the staff should be respectful while enforcing.
Tent camped here for one evening and had a wonderful experience. Very quiet, scenic views, located on the river. Bathrooms are clean and updated. I would love to camp here again!
This place was great super clean. Staff was super nice and it was in a great location. Woke up to a personal deer every morning.
This place is a cool place to stay. My son enjoyed the cabin and the playground is awesome. The bathrooms are clean and the water pressure is awesome. Will stay here again.
An excellent property to set up camp for a night or two.
Clean, comfortable & welcoming accommodations. Swimming pool, workout room, playground, large bathrooms & clean showers.
Great cabin and great location, a must stay for next time we are in the area! My wife and grandkids had fun on the work out equipment as well!
Rough dirt road to get there, pool not heated, bathrooms dirty would never go back, dog park too small, smelly and muddy
KOA is way too proud anymore, almost a hundred dollars a night to stay here and it was a mess around the sites, had to switch sites because the hook ups were on the wrong side, had to travel down a bumpy dirt road to get there. I’m about done with KOA after this year, we tried to be patient but have had a lot of bad places this year with over priced sites.
The bathrooms could use some sprucing up, but the location was quiet and pleasant. Kids had fun.
Best KOA ever. I usually camp in an RV. Rented a cabin this trip. The staff is friendly, helpful, dog friendly, above and beyond in all aspects!
