I had a great time fishing with John on the Madison river. I had almost no experience and he was able to teach and explain in a way I could understand. And he was fun to hang out with. I caught seven beautiful brown and rainbow trout!

We always have a great time and catch some great fish out on the water with John! He definitely knows where the fish are, I caught 14+ fish two weeks ago out on the Yellowstone. The lunch sandwiches were also an A+

I’ve been fishing in southwest Montana for a long time. After using different guides over the years I met John, and he’s now the only guide we go out with. John knows the water and what the fish are doing, works hard to get you in the right position, and gives really helpful tips without being overbearing. The biggest fish I’ve caught in Southwest Montana have all been out of John’s boat. John’s great with everyone from beginners to advanced anglers; I can’t recommend his services enough.

John Kirk was great to fish with. We had a great day on the Yellowstone and great conversation. John is a wealth of knowledge and is really good at putting you on the fish. His skiff is clean and set up well for a long day on the river. A 20 + inch fat brown and couple of Rainbows over 18 were the highlights of a day full of memories. We will be back in John's boat much sooner than later.

John took my wife and I out on a full trip on the lower Madison. We got a full 6 hours of good fishing and he was great. My wife is more on the beginner side, and he got her casting good and on some good fish! I am more of an intermediate skill range, and never did a drift boat, he was great at showing me the ropes and some advanced tips.

Good guy to work with as a guide and would definitely recommend for any skill level.
