Montana Horse Works, Kalispell MT

I am a native Montanan and I called and emailed them many times regarding horseback riding and never got a single response from them. Apparently it is very true about what they say about those who ride horses (equestrians). Stuck up and self entitled. They cant even bother to respond to a simple email or pick up the phone. That being said, I decided to take my business elsewhere. GOOD RIDDANCE!

BTW, All of the 5 star reviews are most likely from their family members and friends. Take your business elsewhere, these people will just waste your time. I have received faster response from the unemployment office.

Absolutely love them! So fantastic with my daughter who is quite small yet also very capable at challenging her and letting her try to do it on her own, while still being safe. Two thumbs up.

We had the most incredible trail ride with Montana Horse Works! We had a party of 6 riding and each horse was perfectly matched to the rider. We got a quick lesson prior to hitting the trail. The guides made sure we felt comfortable at all times! Highlight of my trip so far!

Did not partake in the equine area of the place but, was hauling in for new facilities. Folks are damn nice.

My new husband and I did a trail ride at Montana Horse Works one day of our honeymoon, and it was such a great experience! From scheduling with Cathy over the phone, to the actual day of with our wrangler, Grace, everyone was so kind! Grace did an excellent job balancing myself as an experienced rider with my husband having essentially zero riding experience - he had a great time and the ride was a confidence builder, which made this a total success!

We were referred to Montana Horse Works by our Airbnb host and were so happy that we rode with them! We highly recommend! The riders know their horses and their different personalities which I personally love to see. The views were great and we really liked how chill it was.

We can not thank and say enough about Callie, Cathy, and the rest of the MHW crew. Their knowledge, experience, and dedication to teaching proper horsemanship is astounding. The respect they have for the animals, each other, and their clients is world class. We strongly recommend Montana Horse Works for anyone interested in a trail ride or, better yet, anyone wanting to create a lifelong relationship with horses.

We highly recommend Montana Horse works! My friends and I are all from out of town and were looking for a great place to try horseback riding as a fun activity while in Montana. Alexis and Libby were fantastic, and Alexis was incredibly helpful from start to finish from booking to joining us on the trail ride. Our group ranged from intermediate riders to novice, and both Libby and Alexis were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and patient with all of us as we settled in with our horses and became more comfortable on the ride. I can’t thank both Libby and Alexis enough for a fantastic experience and 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a great horseback riding adventure! Thank you so much again!

If you’re looking for a guided trail ride while you’re in Montana, look no further. I have been on guided trail rides in Julian California, Nashville Tennessee, Dominican Republic and this experience was by far the best!
Today a buddy and I had the pleasure of going out on a guided 2 hour trail ride with our wrangler, Alexis.
Alexis did a phenomenal job making sure we were comfortable with our horses (Zelda & Clifford) and provided a brief but through explanation on how to operate the horses/what commands they respond to. Alexis is knowledgeable, personable and you can tell she is truly passionate about horses.
I wish the ride was longer!

Wonderful ranch and staff! I have never written a review so this says a LOT! Owner Callie gave us such a warm and informative welcome to her ranch. Libby was our wrangler and we can’t say enough good things about her knowledge, natural ease with the horses and with us newbies to riding. She has us hooked and we’ll be going there for lessons next after that beautiful 2 hour private trail ride on their property. Make sure you go to Montana Horse Works FIRST! My 9 year old daughter just had her first ever riding lesson and absolutely loved it. She hasn’t stopped raving about it and is completely hooked. Kali is so calm and knowledgeable. We’ll be booking again very soon!

My daughter who is 7 has been going here for about a year or so. Blake and Cathy are wonderful! My child has improved her riding skills and overall confidence! I'm watching this trickle into other areas of her life as well. Stop in, you won't be disappointed!
