Well worth the drive. Great bakery with a long history of serving the Montana Back Country. You won't beat the scenery driving up Kamas Road, to the County Road into Polebridge.

Sheer delight! This place gave me the sweet goodness that I’d craved. It’s such a pretty drive up as you seek out wildlife along the way. Once there, the road opens up to a mercantile that holds the most delicious baked goods. (Along with other things) such a great treat!

My husband and I are road tripping and heard good things so we made sure to stop in for lunch. The Merc was adorable-they had everything from locally made jewelry, tea/coffee and even a small grocery area for basic things. We ended up with one cold sandwich, one hot sandwich and a huckleberry bear claw and ate it all in the little picnic area. The bad reviews left previously from other customers are nonsense. The prices are what they are for a reason, people need to get over it. The “vicious” animals? I saw two kittens which ferociously lick my finger and the wild dog was sun bathing. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop in!

This is a seasonal spot. According to their website they're closed Nov 1 - Mar 31, which makes sense given their (beautiful, mountainous, and very northern) location!

But if you're lucky enough to visit during their open seasons make sure you try a huckleberry bearclaw!

I thought the drive here was a blast, and it was absolutely gorgeous. We came from Columbia Falls area, so it was ~20mi down a dirt road skirting the western border of Glacier National Park. Stunning!

It was awesome getting to buy a couple beers and drink them outside. The aforementioned bearclaw and a pepperoni pastry were the perfect post-hike treats to accompany our beers. (Cyclone Lookout is a great nearby trail if you're looking for one.)

If you make it to polebridge don't skip the mercantile. Great sandwiches and bear claws.

We stopped in just to check it out, and I had to leave a review because we don't understand any of the bad reviews. We didn't have anything other than an EXCELLENT experience!

The huckleberry bear paw was the best pastry we've ever had! The girls working we're extremely polite and friendly. Idk what you expect of a store, their prices are their prices, if you consider it expensive than don't buy anything! We found the prices reasonable, I'm sure they've gone up - the cost of everything has gone up so they have to increase their prices to still make a living.

It was adorable, 10/10 stop on our Montana trip. If you're visiting and want to have a lunch stop or just see an amazing little stop in the middle of nowhere - you should swing by PoleBridge!

Went there for their delicious baked goods. Fun store. The drive there is fun, with lots of places to park along the way and explore the North Fort Flathead River.

Been going to the 'Merc' for twenty + years, always to get a huckleberry bearclaw before the days hike; this year heard the rumor that they were filling with blueberries and when i asked the cashier wouldnt answer, just told me that "whatever was in them was really good. " Bought some anyway and sure enough they were chock full of blueberries with a few hucks thrown in. The taste was definitely not what i was used to. Disappointed is an understatement.

Okay, you are going to be in the middle of just about nowhere. And that is it's specialty. The mercantile has delicious! Huckleberry croissants. Also, the pepperoni croissant was really great.

A fun drive to get to but worth it for the bear claws. The road outside of the park is in better shape than the one inside the park.

They also have a food truck with some yummy looking food.

Everything was great here! The bakery, the coffee, the great ladies that were working, great selection of necessary things when way out in the wilderness.

Great out of the way place and beautiful ride up there. Sadly the girl working there was unfriendly, unhelpful and just plain miserable. Took the fun out of a cute place

Love this place so much. Amazing bakery in the middle of nowhere. Come grab a coffee or a beer and hang for a while in the middle of nowhere with no cares in the world.
