Just seconds off the freeway but in it's own little forest retreat. We could've stayed at the adjoining rest stop for free or paid $15 to stay here.we are SO glad we chose to spend a night here in August 2022. Pull through space in our 28' motorhome with tow vehicle, all paved, level sites, easy in/out, nice area for walking dog.

On a road trip to the Midwest we decided to check out Quartz Flat Campground to see if we wanted to stay for the night. As we were deciding if we wanted to stay we also decided to have a pick nick. The care taker of this Campground stopped by to welcome us and ask us about our stay here. We informed him of our plans and he welcomely allowed us to stay for a pick nick. Restrooms are clean and everything is well maintained. This is a lovely Campground near the freeway and seems very safe. Did I mention they give free fire wood with your stay! We unfortunately didn't stay because our plans changed a bit but we definitely would stay here next time. Reason why we're giving it a 4 star is because we can slight hear the highway. Other than that, great Campground.

It's a beautiful campground, well maintained. There's no electricity, but there's potable water and an RV dump is available. There's even a short nature trail. Firewood is also provided by the camphost.

Just what we needed - spacious, beautiful, aromatic, friendly. We came in late, lots of spots, very easy to back a tent trailer in (no lights in the park, so easy for very dark.) very near to raod, and right off of a truck parking area - very convenient, but has road noise (about 4/10), and train whistles (didn't mind, our son loves it)
Fire wood provided! Great fire pits with a flip-off cooking grill, nice tables, lots of pinecones to enhance a cooking fire. What really blessed me was how user friendly it is - good signage, very organized and clean, very nice housed pit toilets (well-ventilated and didn't smell, auto light, air freshener, clean floor - my wife said best pit toilet ever), a bathroom with running water - sink and toilet, next to host. There's lots of water spigots, and a high-flow potable and non-potable water hose/tower by the host. Water is tasty! It felt inviting, and made me love Montana even more.

Cute critters in camp, lots of room for running kids, sunlight through trees in the morning. Remember this is high elevation and even in August you'll probably have your first cold night of the road trip. Everything has been 90+ degrees, but we probably hit low 50's last night.

I also happen to love cow catchers at the entrance of everything in Montana. Ambiance.

It's spiritually uplifting here, 'where seldom is heard a discouraging word' and the skies have big beautiful puffy clouds a lot of the time. Not oppressive at all.

Montana has shown us many times much needed hospitality; a friend to the road-weary. To give this any less than 5 stars, in my opinion, is to insist on room-service and bell-hops at your campground.

Also, I made a pancake flipper out of one of the pine firelogs. Tada!

A true traveler campground! Access east and west bound. Good spot for a quick over night. Lots of spaces. Primitive toilets with no hook-ups. Fire pits in season and a dump station. BE AWARE - you are close to the freeway and a regular train track.

I haven't stayed, but have went thru it. By the river, lots of pine trees. A rather secluded camp ground. You enter thru the east and west bound Rest Areas.

Awesome campground near Missoula. No hookups. Water fill stations convienient to sites. Clean pit toilets. We had a river view. I would give 5 stars but the truck traffic and train whistles are a bit much. I would definitely stay again for a quick stop.

You can access this campground going both east west bound at the rest area off I 90. It is dry camping. But there are water stations throughout the camp ground. There are pit toilets located at each loop. There are numerous sites and lots of space between sites. You are not right next to someone. There are both pull through and back in sites. There are spaces that will accommodate big rigs. Ot a fee area and currently 15.00 per night.

Nice and quiet. Very clean. Next to freeway but road noise not too bad through trees. Nice campground host. Water at standpipes throughout camp. All sites are non-electric.

Very peaceful you don't hear the interstate noise that much. Campsites are nice and clean.

I spent the night here on my way to California. It was a good spot but it's very remote and there aren't any trails nearby. I was ready to hit the road when I woke up.

It's a great rest area, however when I pulled in last night to take a nap, all of the big trucks were taking up the passenger vehicle parking spaces so I parked at the gate to the closed campground. Just be aware there may be no parking spots for passenger vehicles late at night.

Stayed here for one night in a tent.
It is $10
It's nothing spectacular but it does what it needs.
It has fire pits and paved pull ins.
You do hear the highway traffic a bit because the camp site is behind a rest stop but it's not super loud.

I just loved this campground.in fact I ended up staying a few days and I usually only stay 1 night and move on since I travel full time in my camper Van. The entrance to the campgeound is inside the rest stop on either side of hwy 90.i mean, how convenient is that? Its just a short drive into Missoula to get food and do laundry.and its such a bargain at just $10, or $5 with a senior lifetime pass like me.
