Dessert Shop Softies reviews
13Classic soft ice cream shack. Always crazy busy on a hot day. Lots of options. The customer service is lacking, as it seems like they've always got some new younger ('first time job' type) employees working - they often seem just a little bit clueless or confused. I'm sure it's a place that is hard to keep staffed. It isn't exactly full time material. But if you can get past the customer service, you're rewarded with ice cream goodness.
Ditch dairy queen, and go here. This road side ice cream shop is the kind of stuff america was founded on. Providing simple and delicious frozen treats this walk up stand leaves you feeling reminiscent of the carnival as a Childe boasting items such as "blitzes" which are essentially a fresh not as processed, better quality version of a blizzard, soft-serve with carnival style drizzle of flavors, and the classic dip. The slushies for you non dairy people are next level on a hot day. I'm happy to say I'll be going here whenever they are open, and I'm bringing the whole family.
I use to love this place but now I don’t think I’ll be back. The customer service wasn’t the greatest and the Bliz it’s only get half way blended. So the bottom half to 3/4 is just vanilla ice cream.
Softy's has been around as long as I can remember. It's still just as delicious as an adult too!
Absolutely love this place. Great selection of flavors, decent prices, and the customer service is amazing. This is the place for ice-cream in billings.
Best ice cream in town. I have been going here for 30+ years and it's so good. First choice got ice cream.
The employees are usually young kids and always so polite and helpful. The ice cream and frozen yogurt hit the spot on a hot day as well as a chilly one.
My family has a tradition on Thursday nights of going to Softies, when they are open. It's always the saddest thing to see they are closed for the season.
My friends and I did not have Softies in a few years, and we went there a few days ago, and it was great. We all ordered something different EI, Banana and Blue Goo Flavored cones, and a Mango Smoothie. They were great, and instead of being sedentary we decided to go on a walk, because in our opinions, they are the perfect treat to do so. The employees were friendly and efficient. Overall, 10/10 for flavor, staff, and speed.
This place is a Billings Institution, we take all the visitors to town here if they're here for the summer!
Rude Service by employees and management. I have been coming to this establishment every other day (when they’re open) for 2 years. Recently the management decided to hire a new crew which is completely incompetent and also asked that the sizes of the cones be cut in half. You used to get a nice big ice cream cone if you ordered a large cone. Now you get like a DQ size medium for your $4.00.
I can get a Ben & Jerry’s Pint for less than that and not have to deal with the “New Crew” and the insincere, cheap, rude, and usually never present “management. Stay away the ice cream is good but for the prices they charge and the way they treat the “regulars” let alone your “Average Joe”,
I’d stay away. I used to love it but have been treated badly so many times in recent weeks I felt a need to warn others that this is no longer the same “Softies” we all knew and loved. Too bad, used to be my favorite part of the day…
There ice cream is so good especially there dip cones. And they will get your order out to you in matter of minutes and there do make the orders in the orders of the people that where in line it so cool
