Bar The Highlander reviews
12Who’d a thunk? The food here was amazing. I had the Chicken Alfredo, Best I’ve ever had. A massive amount of pasta. They do not hold back on their portions, so come hungry. The staff was friendly and fun. There are local beers on tap. The atmosphere is clean. The place is set on a par 3 golf course which looks to be fun.
My husband and I went here on a date night and had so much fun. The live music on the patio was so much fun, the food was delicious and the staff was a riot. Definitely one of our best date nights in a long long time. Thank you for the great experience!
The food is spectacular, and super friendly service. I'm not big into fish when eating out, but we both ordered different fish dishes. Both were exceptional.
Excellent food, great location. They do have dine in, so don't worry. Homemade salad dressing, and everything is very fresh. We did discover that they are not like a steak restaurant, medium is like well done. We had to send back the steaks our group ordered, but they were great. The walleye is excellent as is the pasta. A nice wine menu that we had several bottles from. Definitely a great place to eat. Don't forget to see the pig and other "farm" animals there, or play nine holes of interesting golf
We had a small wedding ceremony at The Norwegian Wood and our reception at the Highlander. Rene and his crew took such great care of our event and went above and beyond to attend to our group! The service and food was spectacular and the environment was cozy and friendly! The ribeye and salmon were fabulous and the meatballs to start are a must! We definitely plan to frequent the Highlander in the future!
Thanks so much for taking such great care of our event. A special thanks to sweet Gloria for your smile and fun personality!
The Highlander is a quaint little bar/restaurant tucked away in the Big belt mountains not far from Canyon Ferry Lake. It is better known as Norwegian Wood by locals and they offer delicious dinner fare. There is a fun nine hole golf course on the property too amongst the wooded area. Covid19 has brought changes.we paid 10 dollars apiece for two drinks, a wine and a crown royal! The manager was rude to my wife and with the increase in drink prices (outrageous) we'll not return.
Fantastic and incredible, the food is outstanding along with the outside atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.
Music was great. Cajan chicken fettuccine was out if this world. Waitress was wonderful. Will come back.
The food is really good. The selection is not large, but big enough to please the appetite. Good atmosphere with good music when you come at the right time.
Oh my goodness this place is off the chart incredible. Just on a MT road trip and I was drawn to the Highland Cattle our front, as we pulled down the driveway a railroad crossing set up guided us in and we got to park right in front of the biggest pig ever. Yes, a pig. This place is incredible - golf course meets working farm. Don’t miss it - staff is unbelievable sincere and incredible, food and presentation fantastic, live music and the determining factor of a five star review at a middle of nowhere bar and grill - ROSÉ!
Amazing atmosphere, best steak I've had, great music. Staff, are fun, energetic and attentive. Best place to "get away", and have a good time.
Most friendliest atmosphere and delicious meals surrounded by a relaxing golf course. Highly recommended when taking a loved one to an intimate dinner.
