VOORMI, Bozeman MT

Very disappointed.
I had high reviews from my colleagues about this store so I bought my boyfriend a second layer for his birthday, which was amazing. He was so thrilled by the garment he went back and bought the "rain jacket", which was purported as being as a ski jacket. ABSOLUTELY NOT!
We agree the sublayers are great but we are so upset that the jacket which cost $500+ did not perform according to how it was sold - as a ski jacket. He wore it skiing and it is NOT a ski jacket. Maybe great for other "sports" like fishing or I don't know what, but NOT SKIING. We understand it is a shell and so he wore the proper under layers (READ PUFFY JACKET, ETC) but he said it was cold, and just didn't fit the bill (no ski accessory pockets). We tried to return it, but since it was worn they wouldn't take it back.
I understand the policy but super disappointed that it was sold to us under false circumstances. We were very clear we were looking for ski gear and this was not it.
I won't be back to buy anything from Voormi as there are other companies out there with exceptional quality for all my gear.
I am a BZ local and I do have a loud voice.

Initial response upon wandering in the BZN store was stylish, fashionable and mostly functional clothing. I bought a lightweight wool hoodie to for trip to Labrador (cool protection against blackflies). Before I even removed the tags or wore it I found torn threads in the front. Returned to store and informed by helpful staff that they were working on improved version with heavier quality material.

I get the sense this business rides on more hype than substance. My hoodie cost $140 and they make written claims that their items are made in Bozeman or Colorado. I saw tags with Vietnam on items in the store. I regret giving them a middling review as I liked the notion of locally made, high quality garments. But in the end I was unimpressed with the gulf between hype, marketing and reality.

We purchased a multilayer material jacket a year ago. The upper sleeve on one side gathered and wrinkled. We took it back into the Bozeman shop. We were told it was exposed to extreme heat, which did not occur. They supposedly sent it to their lab in CO. Response after a month was a scientific “it’s Torched”. While many products are good, customer support when there is an issue is marginal. They lost a reoccurring customer.

I thought I was going to walk into another downtown establishment that was totally out of touch with Montana. Voormi clothing is clearly designed with Montana in their mind. The quality, feel, durability and look made me stay. The great, knowledgeable, friendly staff made me buy. Can't wait to see what they design and curate next.

The clothing is exceptional. Their materials are the highest quality and great colors, the same can be said for their staff! Aside from haveing a comprehensive knowledge of the materials they offer, the staff (Dillon) will go the extra mile to make you feel priority and appreciated. Thanks for being here Voormi team! Looking forward to the new line coming out!
