I live nearby and it’s a wonderful neighborhood bookstore. Despite its small size, they always have the book I’m looking for. Apparently the owners are an art curator and a book publisher - not surprising given the well curated selection of literature and arts-focused works.

Very small, cute bookstore in Chelsea. The selection is well curated. Mandatory to wear a mask which was nice to see. There’s a park next door that’s a good spot to read your purchases.

What a treat - lots of art books, literature, recent books on a variety of subjects, and a decent selection of children's books. The perfect place to browse and enjoy the cool. Highly recommended for everyone who reads!

This bookstore is very welcoming and has a lot of different genres:) The employees are very helpful and overall the entire place just has a very cozy and bookish vibe. Love it! ️

I’m so happy we live around the corner from 192 books! I always find something delightful in this store.

One reviewer wrote, “they really know how to use their windows” and I agree! It’s not located on a very dense street like most book stores, so you either have to love books, walk by or be in the area. I came a few minutes before opening at 11am on a Sunday eager to see all the books prior to brunch at Empire. Their fiction section with classics is superb, I bought 3 books that day and also a Jasper Johns art book. Do yourself a favor, buy a few books, then eat at Empire. You will leave the day very happy and satisfied.

I don’t know what took me so long to walk in here. Amazing selection and a staff that also is excited about their books.
