2nd BDE Dining Facility reviews
11Went here for their Thanksgiving lunch. In my experience and opinion, 2nd brigade kills it for Thanksgiving every year. Can't be beat.
They always out of basic things. The food portion were small, that barely make me full and I paid for 375 that don’t even make me full
Is always out of basic things that should be at a dfac like milk, pepper, cups, etc. The staff is now where to be seen outside of behind the serving stations to help accommodate needs for soldiers. If this place was a restaurant that you only had to pay $4 to get into and you could grab as much as you want this place would close within a week. Average food, subpar staff.
Where are they sourcing their product to be charging me $372 for spaghetti noodles and hamburger meat 5 times a week I do appreciate being among the first group at opening to not get milk and the frozen sushi is so fresh I also love that there's only one person working the salad bar to make sure you have to eat so you can't enjoy the food thankfully they have Texas Pete hot sauce or I'd look like a xylophone also if you need to deficate through a screen door its a good place to start. #blesstexaspete
I'm paying almost $400 a month for prison grade meals:
First off the smell of the Facility is a horrendous festering mess of spoiled food.
Second I half expect to recieve a free hat and gloves along with a heartwarming message of the divine providence of (insert higher power here) along with my meager sustenance. In all seriousness I have enjoyed tastier meals at my local homeless shelter.
As far as portion sizes go, the Wendy's 4 for 4 is more sustainable than the piece of chicken and a grape that I received in my last ration at this facility.
Over all I give this facility 1 star only because they brought back Chobani brand yogurt.
Some of the food aren't well cook like boil eggs and it smell like bad. The cooker took too long to cook.
Small portions for the average Joe, but if another cook ends up in front of you. They'll just fill them up and tell you to kick rocks. Constantly closed, haven't had actual plates in over 2 months.
The smell just in the door is unbearable. Who is inspecting this place, a pig farmer? Fix the drainage issue please! Food was ok for Army chow. I especially liked the photos on the wall of troops eating in the field, as if to say, "hey it could be worse, you could be in Bastogne in '44 eating worse"
Awful place to go eat. The staff all move like turtles, they thinks it’s funny when they run out of stuff in 10 minutes of being open. Had to literally go up to one of the staff sgt cooks and tell them that one of there cooks was openly talking about how it was funny to give out expired milk. They pretend once a month whenever a bunch of higher ups come in they they actually give out good portion sizes and when every other day it’s just scraps. I used to work in the food industry prior to coming in so I know how it is but these guys act like because there cooks they take it out on everyone else.
Breakfast is good, but everything else sucks. 2BDE DFAC has introduced me to new foods, such as: medium rare chicken/fish, dry steak, undercooked vegetables, and chicken noodle soup (but without chicken or noodles), and rock-hard biscuits. All at unrealistically low portions!
We're very rude to me. Have only been here twice and had very bad experiences. They do serve the community so I respect them to an extent.
