ABA Turkish Restaurant reviews
16Everything here is good. Our first visit's experience added ABA Turkish Restaurant to list of favorites.
Very delicious foods and friendly customer service. Very nice place for you to come with your friends and family. Thank you for this awesome night. I highly suggest this place.
Great experience. I believe this is Turkish owned and operated. Having been to Turkey the food was just as delicious.
Get the Manti. You won't be disappointed.
Warm and cozy place wit delicious and flavorful food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place for great food and more gret price for New York City.
Bosnian Family
My husband and I went here after seeing the broadway show, Six. The server was excellent! We sat out outside (there are heaters!), and asked what the server recommended.he gave us great options and we tried the fried rolls as a hot appetizer and the combination kabob platter! Some of the tastiest kabobs we have ever had! We enjoyed Turkish wine as well. The restaurant was so authentic my husband got nervous after he ate the raw tomato and lettuce (those that travel overseas know why). Overall, I highly recommend!
Appetizers were good. Disappointed at the entrees. A bit dry. Just doesn’t stack up to some other similar restaurants. Felt like the staff was a bit overworked and busy and less attentive.
Watch out for hidden fees (tip automatically included that they don’t tell you beforehand. Hidden fees are NEVER allowed regardless of party size, tip, etc. Must always be disclosed in a clear location BEFORE you order) and call them out on it! Service is not great. When we ordered the dinner special first the waiter was insistent on letting us know that this could not be shared and something else must be ordered. We planned on ordering more anyhow so it wasn’t an issue but this type of pressure and nondisclosure of this rule on the menu just makes for an unpleasant experience when the waiter is only trying to increase the bill. Restaurant imposes a hidden fee that is NOT told to customers anywhere on the menu or in the restaurant. When you get your bill they include the tip. Very surprised to see this since we were a party of 2. Waiter said it’s automatically included. When I brought it to the manager’s attention the next day he claimed that the restaurant only includes it in parties of 6 or more and that they do not need to let the customer know beforehand. This is all false. NY requires that customers must be told of ALL service charges, mandatory tips etc regardless of party size in a conspicuous nonhidden place. So if there is a fee you were not alerted to when you get the bill, don’t let them try to run it past you with a lousy excuse of “we wrote it on the bill” or “it’s automatically included” or “its because of your party size”
The food is very good (but not that wow because I’ve tried too many other Turkish restaurants that are more delicious than this).
On the other hand the service was very good.
The main 2 problems for me that we were forced to set outside while the restaurant was a little busy inside (almost half the tables inside were available).
And the other thing is that the bill is included the gratitude like anything else you’ve ordered (that’s a little bit weird) you don’t have to get an fixed percentage as a gratitude regardless the service I’ve received.
I think this restaurant is delicious I really love the stuff cabbage and the lamb kebab another great dish that I really enjoy is the eggplant salad it taste like baba ghanouj but more healthier I also like the Hamas and the bread it’s fresh bread prepared from the kitchen which is an extra touch of warmth. I really also enjoyed almond pudding and the rice pudding. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a year now and I’m always really happy with the food and service. Oh, how can I forget the Bronzino that I ordered that was good too!
Delicious chicken shish kababs. A bit pricey for what you get but that's common for the area around this place so it's not an issue.
Good food but quite expensive, I didn’t like that they forced me to tip a specific amount with the bill. I never saw this in New York City.
Everything was absolutely delicious. Every plate a perfect medley of flavors. The natural flavors prominent with freshness, and seasonings perfectly complimentary in each case. The bread, in particular, was outstanding. Real traditional risen Pide, fresh out of the oven. This is sort of like crusted focaccia, but lighter. So good, my wife stole some. Also, the liver is unlike any liver you've ever had. So tender and tasty, but crispy and flavorful at the same time. 5 stars!
Food was amazing and their service were great. The girl who serve food she is very polite. Definitely I will go there for dinner again
Delicious and well priced, probably my favorite Turkish spot in turn. BYOB - there are a couple of wine stores nearby.
Update: they now have beer and a small wine selection available
