Absolute Bagels reviews
19 I ate Mozzarella cheese and tomato on everything bagel and vegan cream cheese with sun dried tomatoes also with everything bagel.
It is a pretty good bagel, but I didn’t understand what’s the hype.
I wouldn’t stay in line for this again, but if you are in the area and the line is short it is worth the visit
Beware of how much change they actually give you back! Nick, the cashier, deceitfully takes larger bills like $20 and only gives you back $1 instead of $11, pocketing the $10 and gaslighting you into thinking that he only received $10. I had to call the cops and stand my guard for several minutes creating a very large line. Only then, did the manager give me my $10 change. Shady business all around! Never going back.
You hear about New York bagels. These are the top of the class. Not flashy, and you’ll probably have to wait a while. Just damn good bagels. Must try!
Besttt bagel shop with lots of vegan options. Cranberry iced tea is INSANE. Such a great place, and the employees are super sweet.
If you going to visit New York it is mandatory visiting this place. Omgoshhhh it's is moat delicious bagels I had ate in my life. Bring cash they just accept cash.
I was always surprised by the line of people to enter this place.
I went on a day when there were very few people and I had a conventional bagel, but they had sweet and savory options.
Insects were crawling all over the bagels but I only noticed after I had already ordered. They got my order wrong and then proceeded to go off on me very loudly even though I was buying it anyway. It's also cash only.
There's no other place I'd rather go for a bagel. There are options for all tastes, the bagels are baked right in front of you (so fresh!) and the amount of cream cheese they add to each bagel is ungodly. They definitely do it right. Once you have these bagels, you won't want to go back!
The most yummiest, delicious and best bagels, we've ever ate. Can't say enough good things about the quality and the taste of the sandwiches and three dozens of bagels we ordered. We drove back to Chicago (18 hours, including two over night stops) and the bagels were yummy on the third day as well.
Exactly what you want in a New York bagel. Fresh, crunchy on the outside, chewy in the middle, generous amount of cream cheese. Note the establishment is CASH ONLY.
We got a a toasted everything lox sandwich and a pumpernickel bagel with plain cream cheese. The bagels were a bit too chewy and they were skimping on the lox. Overall, everything was decent but not phenomenal. Not sure what the hype is all about.
We went on a weekend and had to wait about 20 minutes in line. Definitely worth it. Delicious bagel AND cream-cheese. Bagel is huge with crispy exterior and chewy interior - just how you want it!
Grab one and walk over to central park where there's plenty of seating for you to enjoy your bagel with a coffee.
Best bagel I ever had! The scallions cream cheese is to die for! Ate here 2 days in a row and would still come back for more.
After being recommended by a friend, I thought I'd give Absolute Bagel a try one morning before catching the train. I placed my standard order (bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel) but they only accepted cash, the line was incredibly long, and it was hot and stuffy inside. When I received my bagel, it was lukewarm and had a mediocre texture.
I feel like anybody who loves this place has just not been to enough bagel shops to know that this one isn't special at all. I get much better, larger, (and warmer) BEC's at Bagel Pub downtown.
Not worth the trip, honestly.
Overrated and overpriced. Tasteless scallion cream cheese with no scallions. Onion bagel was average at best and no bialys. Cash only, a joke, and rude customer service and a filthy dated interior with nowhere to sit.
Lennys on 98th st was much better and half the price and you could sit and relax. This place is for tourists and suckers, don't believe the hype.
Tried three NY bagel places, this one was the best! The cream cheese was so light and fluffy!
Best bagels I had during trip to New York. Crunchy outside, soft and chewy inside. Cream cheese is also I believe the best. Not to be missed, truly a gem. Line is long but totally worth waiting. Attention: cash only.
It’s something that will bring you back to the 80s great bagel when fresh but no CASH. 30 minutes waiting in line
The best bagel place in the neighborhood if not the city. Always a line on weekends, even when it’s 23 degrees outside! But the line moves relatively fast.
Cash only.
