Academy Records reviews
11A great shop with a nice collection of reggae 12"s and old disco that had me and my group of 4 digging for over an hour and everyone leaving happy. Birthday party broke out so yeah.it's that kind of neighborhood spot. Absolutely recommend.
One of the most interesting in NY. It has several vintage editions and a lot of soul and hip hop, the place is very pleasant. It's a pity that one of the two trays used to listen to the records is very old, the headphones don't work well and the pick should be changed because it doesn't allow you to have an idea of the record you're taking. You should invest a little there ;)
Very good store
Moderate prices and a wide variety of simple and maxi
Turn records to sample and listen to your selections and friendly vendors
Together with 'generation records' and 'A1', the best of lower Manhattan
Such a cool little shop that’s so densely packed w records. Lots of $3-5 bins where you can get lucky
Very solid selection across a wide variety of genres. There's something for everyone in here. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
Authentic music lovers, thousands of vinyls, all kind of music, unmissable if you owned a turntable.
Great to be back to this my old favorite from 20+ plus years ago. Always good finds at reasonable price. Condition is well thought-out and reflected to pricing. Feeling Burt Bacharach these days. Found two this time. He’s like 94 years old, wow. Keep at it please.
Nice Store, large selection of vinyl records and more, Great customer service, fare prices, easy to reach from public transportation Ask for Nate
Nice record store in the city. 45's are organized by genre which is much better than most other record shops who just jam all their singles into boxes in no order whatsoever.
Really good selection here. A bit of a dig, but not to intense for the uninitiated. I’ve found some great records in their bins.
A beautiful selection of jazz, old school and contemporary. Was so pleased to find some of my favourite albums by South African + West African musicians in the crates— records I’ve been looking for for a long time. A really nice atmosphere with turntables for you to listen to unsealed records. Will definitely be back!
