Acker Wines reviews
8Received a bottle that was leaking and not properly packed. Did not recieve any compensation form Acker. Will never use again.
STAY CLEAR! Sells fake/refilled wine and bourbon. Have been found guilty and had to pay 100k in fines. This place are known scammers!
Decent selection for a small shop, though prices are a bit high for some harder-to-find bottles. I will keep looking around the neighborhood.
I've used Acker for auctions for many years and their service is second to none! There's so much to like about their auction service, descriptions are on point, selection is expansive, good deals to be had, but my favorite part of the experience is the people. Danielle has been so good for so long, I genuinely think of her as a friend. She coordinates logistics with kindness, consideration, and exactitude. Erin is really fantastic, too. Great people, working hard and staying nice. Highly recommended.
Attempted to make a purchase here this past weekend, but they were out of stock of the item I wanted. I then went to place the order online through their website, but thankfully not before I saw the NY Post's article about how they knowingly sell counterfeit bourbon. What a joke. Absolute frauds.
"NYC wine store fined $100K for fake bourbon sales — but hasn’t fired anybody over scandal. " That's the headline from the 03/01/2023 NY Post article about this business ripping off their customers. COUNTERFEIT ALCOHOL! BE CAREFUL PEOPLE. Your best bet is to avoid any business operating in NYC. In my early 20's i met a friend at a bar on the UES. I ordered Jack with a ginger back. Took one sip and knew instantly it wasn't Jack Daniels. The bartender said i was wrong so i said prove it and open a new bottle in front of me. He did and of course i was right. I'm from LYNCHBURG! Jack Daniels is in our blood. NYC is filled with cheats. Look elsewhere for anything of value.
This place got caught selling fake wine and bourbon more than once. They're scammers.
Rude staff, and they not only were caught selling counterfeit bourbon but they never even fired any of their employees for it, which means the owners were well aware of it/the ones who did it. There are plenty of other lesser known businesses that deserve your business.
