Terrible company to work with. I have been with them for 4+ years. Bought and sell well over 100 cars, with very little complaints ever even when there were undisclosed issues. NEVER would help me on anything when I did complain due to their robotic response “Per Acv policy” they have gotten me on numerous purchases that ended up costing me upwards of 10k to repair.most recently had done several of my dealer peers locally wrong. I had decided to stop buying due to the fact their inspectors note nothing when doing an inspection. I decided I would only sell on their platform.you pay ACV for their services to list a vehicle on your behalf. Those services include a 3rd party vehicle inspection done, to which the seller is supposed to be free of any responsibilities once the vehicle is sold.you pay an extra $100 just to ensure this. So I ask ACV to list a car on my behalf. They send their inspector. I leave the engine codes in the system because there are no reasons to hide the issue. Their inspector then proceeds with inspection, does not state the engine codes in the inspection for what unknown reason. I do not know. The check engine light is on in the pictures though… they do an audio amp clip which shows the vehicle engine clear of any issues. The car sells. I send the title. They pay me minus my sale fees. Car gets picked up and delivered. Buyer calls asking questions about the car, I hear the vehicle being revved up in the background (keep in mind this is a higher performance vehicle that had just been recently performance tuned on a dyno by a legitimate performance shop) then later that week I receive an email from acv arbitration stating that since I didn’t tell the inspector of an engine timing chain noise” that the deal would be unwound… excuse me? You send an inspector out that you pay and I pay you for this service. He takes an audio clip and it sounds fine. Now all of a sudden the car has issues and I’m supposed to take it back that way? They claim it’s because I was hiding the issue…. If that were the case I wouldn’t have left a modification list & receipts on the repairs I had done nor owuld I have even bothered mentioning modifications OR the fact it was Catless before the inspection did his inspections. Moral of story, Nothing was hidden. Mistakes were made by ACV and they won’t own up to it. So here I am taking the brunt of the situation due to their inability to stand behind their mistakes. I urge all of you to not use acv auctions for buying or selling. Multiple other dealers I know have had issues, similar to me. You will too! I have requested to be removed from ACV’s database and I will continue to buy from ANY other auction source besides ACV.

I Purchased a $33,000 “Green light” vehicle
with ZERO announced issues. Also purchased extended warrant $200. Both the inspection and the extended warranty are
extremely deceptive. Because ACV's arbitration policy only allows for 300 miles, regardless of whether you purchase the
extended warranty (you would think with additional time you would get extended mileage to allow for road testing, the answer is NO) my claim was denied despite the inspector who viewed
the vehicle acknowledging SEVERE “transmission issues”. A green
light vehicle from this platform has pretty much ZERO guarantee
and CANNOT be trusted. Thankfully I know to drive any vehicle I purchase from ACV for at least 500-1000 miles BEFORE I sell it
to reveal any issues that have been undisclosed. I purchased another vehicle from them that was later revealed to have a bad engine. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLATFORM. I already started a case with the AG's office since they're based here
in New York, ACV is a scam! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

ACV has terrible customer service and business practice. I won a vehicle through them on a “No Reserve, last bid wins auction. ” I paid for the vehicle and arranged transport. The next day I’m sent a “text message” letting me know that the seller made a mistake and they don’t want to sell the vehicle, but don’t worry I’ll be refunded. Highly unprofessional as a situation like this certainly warrants at least a phone call to let me know what’s going on. I asked that a manager gives me a call about this situation, but hours passed and never heard anything else about it. Don’t get too excited if you win a car on this platform as you may receive a message that the seller is backing out of the deal. 0 business integrity with this place. Backlot Cars offers much better customer service and user platform for finding your inventory.

Worst auction i have ever been. Customer reps are totally disaster. They are treating their customers like they are the only 1 auction in the world. No service, no respect, plus cars are beaten up. And lastly their arbitration is a joke!

Warning.worst arbitration ever.we bought 2010 Mercedes ML from a franchise dealer and they describe is as run and drive.when i sent my carrier to picked it up the vehicle will not start.they send there mechanic to inspect the vehicle and they confirm the issue which was one of the computer need to be replace.they send me an estimate for repair but i refuse it and i ask for unwind.they said they can not unwind it and they force me to accept the offer.the vehicle right now still at the seller for almost a month and i can not move it because no carrier will ship a non running vehicle for out the state.
Bad experience arbitration. BE AWRE!

I have been an active bidder/buyer utilizing online auction platforms for the last 6 years or so. I have purchased hundreds of vehicles this way. Unfortunately, ACV has been the worst company I have dealt with. I have tried to give ACV a chance to earn my continued business. Regrettably for me, most of the purchases I made arrived with undisclosed, MAJOR issues. That being said, the way they handle Arbitration is unethical. I was blatantly lied to on a phone call about not being able to arbitrate for a manual transmission issue. I was certain this vehicle met the qualifications for an arbitration. I contacted a contract law specialist who reviewed the policy and explained to me that my vehicle most definitely met ACV’s terms of a valid arbitration item. After taking the time to do this and calling multiple people within ACV, they finally agreed to allow the arbitration. On other vehicles I was not so fortunate. In conclusion, I believe their arbitration managers initially just deny the arbitration all together in hopes that you will just take the loss and not look deeper into their policy. I would have lost over $3,000 if I would have trusted their word. Not a great way to do business.

If you are trying to buy inventory with confidence you should try this company, they are doing a great job with the condition reports and even if you find something wrong with the vehicle after you received at your lot submitting an Arbitration is fast, simple and fair

Absolutely terrible unethical business and business practices. Had a technical/online issue that was brought to a sales rep immediately and was told by MULTIPLE employees could have been rectified easily. Nothing was done and everyone gives us the run around saying it could be easily fixed but not by them. BEWARE as a buyer/small dealer as they have no consideration for them no matter how much business you have given/done with them. Payments and financial department is a joke, will try to block you for non payment or send multiple invoices for something that has been paid already. Many other online platforms that are better organized and run.

I had been using ACV for about 2 years now and I have been buying online from other sites a couple years before that and I continue to buy online. But I will NEVER be using ACV again and I advise you to do the same before it costs you like it did me. During my almost 2 years with ACV I bought around 100 vehicles and sold about 25 on their site. I had always noticed the fees and transportation was very high but I made it work. But over time they have continually gotten worse as a company. They will do anything they can to not pay out on arbitration even when their policy says it’s covered. They will try there best to never give you a call back or a response and just keep ignoring you hoping you will go away. And any vehicles they sell over 175K miles are “as is” so the inspectors will just not disclose major issues and ACV will do nothing about it. I currently have a 25K Duramax with a bad motor that they noted had no mechanical issues. As far as selling on the site I pay extra for there “go green” program that has them deal with any possible arbitration. Well let me tell you the first time someone did want to arbitrate they threw that right back on me and forced me to take back a 65K car that I had personally driven and knew was good and had Receipts from where a shop had looked it over when I purchased a vehicle to tell me that there were no issues. These are just some of my recent experience and I tried to give ACV many chances but I can no longer do it. They are an unethical company and I don’t see how they will stay in business doing things the way they are. I know many other dealers that are local to me that will no longer use them. But we will continue to use their online competitors that are doing things better.

They do bring inventory but very bad when it comes to titles and arbitration, also, as a dealer I would like to check all tools especially live appraisal, but they've taken that from us as well.

Its been almost 8 months since I've gotten my title.

SMALL DEALERS BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE FOR THE BIGGER DEALERS SELLING JUNK VIA THE ACV PLATFORM.
Purchased a 2011 BMW GREEN LIGHT and the audio video shows the vehicle running. The vehicle was delivered to me INOPERABLE. I used their transportation carrier and the carrier informed me the vehicle was INOPERABLE when he picked it up and had to wrench it on his truck. And delivered the vehicle to me the same way / INOPERABLE. My mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined the ENGINE IS BLOWN. Had another Mechanic to diagnose the vehicle and determined Engine is blown!
Cylinders have NO COMPRESSION! I’m OUT 4000.00
Definitely contacting BBB and a Lawyer!

Update filing a Civil Suit against ACV in Buffalo NY! They already have plenty of lawsuits against them!

A “quick” summary:
I listed a Jeep Grand Cherokee on a no reserve sale with ACV and was promised certain amount in proceeds. This vehicle was a green lighted listing and sold accordingly. The vehicle was picked up and then shipped to the seller as I sent the title and miscellaneous paperwork into ACV. A few days later I came into my dealership to find the same jeep sitting in front of our main building unlocked, with the windows down, with the keys tossed on the front seat and no delivery driver to be found. Not having any idea why the vehicle was back at my location, I called ACV and was told that the vehicle had been unwound. I had not been notified of the unwind and this vehicle was also sold under no reserve so I did not see how it could have been unwound. I reached back out to ACV and was told that the vehicle had been unwound because a repo affidavit had been included with the title, but this repo affidavit was not the last dealer assignment and was just paperwork that was included to show the appropriate trail between dealers. This repo affidavit had no bearing on whether the vehicle had a clean and transferable title that was free and clear. Furthermore, had I been made aware of a title issue, this title could have been returned to me and a new Kentucky title could have been printed at my local DMV without any repossession affidavit moving forward. I was never given this opportunity and as I understand it as as I read the master dealer agreement between our companies, I should have been given the opportunity to fix this very small title issue before the vehicle was unwound. Instead, your customer of 2 1/2 years, (me), is not notified whatsoever and the vehicle was just strewn upon my property with no regards to anything or anyone. Being a pretty easy-going person, I was OK with my sales rep telling me that I would still be made whole and the no reserve proceed number would not change and we would just relist the vehicle. A new VCI came out and now the green light jeep that left my property is now yellow lighted with multiple issues and sold for a lesser amount. It seems very shady for a greenlight vehicle to leave my property, be unwound without my knowledge, be shipped back to me without my knowledge, and then yellow lighted and sold for less money, resulting in me receiving invoice notification stating that I owe the difference now. Additionally, had I ever been notified whatsoever, besides fixing the title, if the vehicle still stayed unwound, I would have use my own transportation service to have the vehicle returned to my location. Instead this vehicle was scheduled for shipment and returned back to me without my knowledge or approval for the amount of shipping cost to be incurred. Now I am reminded of everything that I am told is great about ACV, especially every time I log into your site, which is almost daily, I see that trust and transparency is the number one thing your company prides itself on, nothing about this situation was trustworthy or transparent. The original purchasing dealers sales rep had enough pull to have a vehicle unwound without notifying anyone, again, not seen as trustworthy or transparent. People first is next, I was told by my sales rep that he would get this taken care of multiple months ago, and it sounds like no one from ACV is listening to him so no people first on that side. Positive experience is next, no real explanation needed and I doubt that I need to go any further.

Updated 1 star to 3-Buyer Beware-Every buyer should be aware that ACV does not honor the green light auction policy. We count on ACV to offer accurate information as you are a online only auction. Inspectors green light cars with major mechanical issues. The will tell you it can be repaired under their $500.00 policy. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Unfortunately, you cannot fix these cars for their estimates and its always under the $500 that way they don't have to be make it right. Buyers need to be aware that if there is an problem with a car, Arbitration will not help. I have changed my review from 1 to 3 stars because there is 1 employee there that will try and help you find a resolution that is fair. If it wasn't for her, I would have stopped buying cars from ACV after my 2nd purchase as both needed thousands in repairs.

Way better than manheim. Very objective with inspections. Lower fees, arbitration is easier to deal with. No one steals your keys or random stuff like at the big auctions. I haven't been to an auction in probably 3 years now. Definitely saves time and money!

ACV goes above and beyond a lot, you have to do your due diligence and make sure you check the cars once you receive them, but ACV is one of the best auctions regarding acknowledging any issues and doing everything they can to help mitigate the process, I continue to be happy with them.

Used to be a good auction but now I will give them zero star The arbitration used to be good customer service was excellent now zero on the top of that they have a ghost bid there auctioneer bid with the buyer since you don’t know who against your bid and they tried to XXXX the buyers UP ….

I had a terrible experience. (Will Milton) Arbitration only gave me 7 days on a 4th of july weekend to get a motor diagnosed from a Franchised Chevy Dealer. This was after i got it diagnosed by a local independent reputable repair shop that informed me that the motor had 60lb of compression on cyl 1 and 3, cyl 2 and 4 had 120lb and 140lb of compression. Water pump is dumping coolant. Radiator is leaking and right lower control arm is bent. I asked for extra time because the chevy dealer was 2 weeks out and they procceded to tell me they would be unable to help and to revisit section 2D of their policy.

So due the their inspector not catching any of these problems im stuck with replacing $4800 in repairs

TITLE DEPT is terrible. Not helpful at all. I have a NY title with lien letter which NJ DMV requires notary stamp but the title department kept telling me that I have to go to DMV first and get a rejection letter then they can contact to the seller and get it notarized. In the beginning they said the seller needs to see the rejection letter then they said ACV requires this letter which they did not ask for another car 2 weeks ago. These guys just making everything harder. They don't know anything.
