This is some of the best indian in NYC - good mix of chaat/street food and main dishes. Authentic and tasty

I went to Adda on Saturday evening for dinner, with my family. The place is rather small and very loud, feels like you are in a bar or a sports bar. We had a reservation, so got seated as soon as we got there. I ordered few of their popular dishes. (Kheema Pao (on salty side, Ok flavor), Lamb Chops (on salty side but decent), Butter Chicken (Sweet and heavy usage on fenugreek), Cheese Naan (Tasted great), Luknow dum Biryani (Flavors/spice combination did not work (I am a biryani enthusiast, I enjoy eating and making Biryani at home)
Overall we felt the food was on the salty side and bit sweet. I went there particularly for their Biryani as I had read and heard some good reviews.about it. But it did not leave it up to the hype, I have had better biryani's at places that don't even claim anything about their biryani. Biryani was on the salty side, tons of onions and the flavor mix of rice, spices and goat/lamb did not work well). The raita (yogurt that complements the biryani was good). I won't be going there again.

The food at this place is phenomenal. Definitely try the Pav Bhajji, Biryani, & Butter Chicken!

If you want everything you order to taste over spiced, then this is the place for you. Overpriced and disappointing

High quality Indian food that’s tucked away in one of the less busy areas of LIC. I’d definitely make the trek out here again since everything was delicious. Would highly recommended the biryani, the meat is absolutely delicious! The vibe inside is cozy and the food really hits the spot after a long day. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Small non descriptive restaurant, opposite La Guardia college. Typical south Asian dishes, heavily patronized by Indians and Pakistanis. Decrepit furniture. Dishes are spicy and tasty. Service time is reasonable. Bit pricey for its size and decor. Liquor will add $$$ to the bill. Perhaps location merits high rents. Best times are late evenings when parking is available on queens blvd and cross streets. Of course the overhead subway is also convenient.

Delicious Indian food. Can be quite spicy. Service was so-so. Can be a great place with great company.

The restaurant is very average. We went with a lot of expectations, however, the food was very heavy on garam masala as opposed to being flavorful. We tried 1) vada pav: it had too much sweet tamarind chutney that made the entire vada pav very sweet and that's not how it is supposed to be. 2) dahi puri - decent but again heavy on sweet chutney. 3) keema Pav - keema was nicely cooked but OMG so much of garam masala. As soon as we are we realize we will pay for it later with acidity. It felt they just use a lot of same heavy spice in everything. I was disappointed. To top it off the staff is so cold but probably thats very NYC.

The best Indian restaurant, for me. Their kale is beyond my expectation, so much delicious.

The food is average and did not live to the hype and great reviews. The black dal tasted very average. The options of vegetarian Indian food is very limited.

I visited Adda with my family a few weeks ago and had a pleasant experience. The interior is really cute and clean and we loved the old newspaper wall. It’s a cute spot for a date if you live in Queens but the rest of the neighborhood doesn’t have a lot going on.

We came in with a reservation and were seated promptly in a little nook area. The menu has more than enough items to choose from if you are a meat eater or vegetarian - would not recommend this spot for vegans, and they also don’t really do accommodations although there are maybe two or three vegan options on the menu.

Food: 4/5 - We were able to order a bunch of the small plates - Chili Cheese Toast, Vada Pav, and Szechuan Gobi (vegan). We got the Baingan Bharta from the large plate section as well. Overall the food was good, but not the best Indian food I have had in New York and a tad overpriced, especially for where it’s located. Loved the vada pav and the Chili Cheese Toast. We also got Mango Lassis - these were just okay. Super thick.

Vibes: 4/5 - Very cute inside!

Service: 4/5 - Decent enough service, and everyone seemed to be seated promptly

Value: 3.5/5 - The food was good but as mentioned earlier, some dishes seemed overpriced for what they ended up being. Chili cheese toast was $15 for 2 thin pieces of bread cut in half. It was delicious, but still a reach lol.

Overall: 4/5 - Food was decent - I would come back if I’m in the area or on the 7 but don't think I'm going to go out of my way.

Honestly, the food is extremely spicy. I wish the menu is a mix of high and low spice food, but everything we tried was spicy. The flavour is clouded by spices, and that’s not a very good thing. The Lucknow biryani has more meat and curry than the rice, the rice did not feel as if it was fully cooked.

Being from India, I know this does not fully encompass Indian food.

Although spicy for my tolerance level I couldn’t stop eating. It was the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had. The paneer was my favorite, the Pao Bhaji (potato, peas, cauliflower) was heavenly.

- Saag Planner was salty.
- Butter chicken was sweet and gravy was runny and worst it came but big chew chunks of chicken. Any restaurant that is serious about their butter chicken will always have the chicken pulled from a tandoori chicken in their butter chicken.
- Black dal no where close to what Black dal should taste like or look like.

Overall solid 1/5 for the food.

Unfortunately Indian food continues to be mis-presented. This is no where close to what real Indian food tastes like.

One of the most amazing meal we have had so far. The food is fantastic and very delicious unlike any “run of the mill” Indian restaurant. Best casual dinning place, hands down. CJ took care of us. He very knowledgeable and friendly. I absolutely recommend this place for great food in casual dinning.
