Adolescent Young Adult Medicine of Great Neck: Jonathan Trager, MD

Dr. Trager is an expert! My 10-year-old daughter developed Sabhoraic Dermititis on the back of her neck, scalp, in ears, and around her nails. It was a scary time for us. We saw a derm, and what they prescribed didn't work. Dr. Trager prescribed gentle topical medicine. He was very careful as SB in young adults can only be treated a certain way, which we learned from him. We tried otc solutions before seeing him, and it lasted a year. After seeing him, it was all gone within 2 months. He looked at my daughters facial skin and was able to predict puberty in a few months. He was right!

I write this review over 10 years after Dr. Trager treated my boy. I walked into that office at my wits end. Specialist after specialist, cream after cream and my sons skin was raw, bleeding, cracked looking horrifying. He would cry and scratch his skin off every night. He was suffering and no one could help. Dr. Trager gave me a very simple regimen that my son still uses to this day. My sons skin has been clear ever since. I believe he only saw Dr. Trager for his initial and follow up appointments. I can’t thank him enough for helping my boy.

My son went to him for pediatric dermatologist. We waited inthe waiting room for 15 minutes. He saw my son for 2 minutes! He didn't even look at his legs when I said his skin is flaring up. He just said put vani cream on is hard! Would not recommend.

It’s my 1sr and the last time I am going to see this Doctor because he rush too much just to let you go right with out and advice what to do after the surgery. I will not recommend this Dr to any body of mt family and friend.

Doctor Trager is phenomenal. I go to him for dermatology. He has amazing bedside manners and listens to what the patient needs. I’ve been going to his office monthly to deal with my psoriasis. He is accommodating with prescribing multiple prescriptions that either react better to my skin or are just more cost effective. He even suggested to get to the root of my problem, by trying to switch my diet to foods that aren’t inflammatory and cause a reaction to my skin. He asks me about my mental health as well since stress is a big trigger for my condition. Couldn’t ask for a better doctor! The staff is also very responsive when I need a refill for prescriptions and following up for my appointments. Highly recommend this office!

Amazing pediatrician and dermatologist! He noticed issues with my kids their previous PED of 5 years didn’t see. Always a great and easy experience visiting this office. Dr trager is extremely nice, warm, and caring. He really listens and doesn’t rush you out of the room. He’s super helpful and so kid friendly. My kids love him! We’ve gone to him for dermatology as well as we’re just as happy with those results. He’s all around an amazing doctor! Highly highly recommend him!

Took my son to see Dr. Trager many years ago. After seeing doctor after doctor. Specialist after specialist, topical/oral meds one after the other, Dr. Trager gave me simple and easy instructions on how to care for my sons eczema. We walked in that office and my son was covered from head to toe in itchy/bloody rashes. After taking his advice, we went back a week later and my boys skin was clear. I’ll never forget how he helped my son. Forever grateful!

As always, Dr. Trager is attentive, thoughtful and thorough! He directs the conversation to the patient and not solely the parent! My daughter has been under his care since she was an infant and we have never felt rushed through an appointment. Dr. Trager’s office is well organized, efficient and accommodating!

Took both my girls to Dr. Trager, he is professional and very attentive. Made both my girls feel very comfortable. He is also thorough and makes sure the patients needs are all met. My daughter needed an xray and he called me with the results the same day she took the xray! I highly recommend him.

Upon first meeting of Dr T he was nice and accommodating. Brought my teen back because thought there was a bad reaction to treatment. The doctor was short aggressive and made patient and parent extremely uncomfortable. Upon calling, was treated dismissive and would not listen to any concerns. Doctor became argumentative and would not allow parent to finish speaking. Don’t let the first impression fool you. Parent was extremely hopeful about the help, and became extremely disturbed over the doctors response.

Reception was rude and disrespectful. I don't recommend anyone going here. They rush you out in the span of 3 minutes. I rescheduled twice and they banned me.

Excellent doctor he is welcoming, attentive and patient. I travel from Brooklyn and have been doing so for years. Quality, cleanliness and outstanding office staff. Availability is never an issue and always accommodating as possible. The doctor always explains things in detail and provides options. Thank you for bringing me peace of mind and taking care of my daughters.

I visited for help with my teenage daughters acne. The doctor was very attentive and professional. He was able to make my daughter feel comfortable and that he is able to help. Would recommend

Dr. Trager is a gem among the medical community. Always professional, compassionate and highly skilled.

I have never seen such a rude person as a doctor in my entire life. I seen so many good reviews of this doctor, which influences me to choose this doctor. But my experience was horrible. He was in rush while seeing my 4 months old child. He didn't answer clearly all our questions and concerns. And in the follow up appointment he yield to my wife for being 20 minutes late. Though we informed them prior reaching Dr office that we will be late. I will never go back to that Dr Office again. May god bless him and give him some patience.

Dr Trager is such an amazing, warm, helpful and knowledgeable doctor. He literally gave me his personal number to send him pictures of my daughters cut and followed up daily. What dr does that? !? ! I have never met such a caring and wonderful doctor. Dr Trager is a dermatologist and a pediatrician as well. I am now using him for both. If you are debating going to him.go! You will NOT be disappointed.

Extremely pleased with my experience with Dr. Trager. He took the time to take a very thorough history during my first visit to rule in/out all potential causes of my problem. He provided an explanation for every part of the examination, and was very calm which made me feel more relaxed. I was also really impressed when he called a week after my visit for a check-in; it shows that he has genuine care for his patients. As a healthcare provider myself, I am extremely picky about the doctors I choose and tend to "jump around. " Grateful to have found a dermatologist I can stick with. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Trager.

It was my first time seeing a dermatologist because I never thought it was necessary to before, but there were small physical appearances about myself which I always wanted answered, such as my nose mole (which I was insecure about), a random skin discoloration on my lip, and a small patch of dry skin on my face which I got out of nowhere. I had a lot of questions in regards to what these things were, how I can improve my skin condition, or even how I may have gotten it in the first place! I had TONS of questions, but Dr. Trager was very patient and answered all my questions. He even described the pros and cons to the 2 methods (shave biopsy + excision) for removing the nose mole and remained transparent towards what the estimated costs would be. Overall, I could tell he was really trying to help:).
