Albatross, Ocean Beach NY

Albatross doesn't take reservations, so we went on the early side and had no problem getting a table on Julyv4. The grilled salmon was perfectly prepared and among the best we've had - comparable to high end restaurants. The hot honey chicken sandwich special was crispy and flavorful and should join the regular menu. Finally, the grilled chicken caesar was tender and nicely dressed. We will definitely return on our next trip to Fire Island.

Probably one of my favorite places to eat in Ocean Beach. Their wings are amazing and clams on the half shell fresh and on point.

Food was delicious and the service nice and friendly. I had steamers and mussels in marinara sauce. It was so good, I went back the next day and ordered the same thing

Great low-key place in OB to grab a drink, decent food but I keep going back because the atmosphere and staff.

Dumb automatic gratuity, horrible waitress, extremely rude, food wasn’t even good enough to satisfy me, waitress was super rude, hella loud, stupid expensive, super disrespectful waitress, bathroom was disgusting, i think i’m sick, might be monkey pox, who knows, christian was the only sane one.i wouldn’t even call it food, just overpriced poisoning.

Id give it 0 if I could. Every time I've gone, they have interrogated my friends and I about our ID's (which are very much real). I don't know if its because we all use sunscreen so we look younger than our age, or if its because we are not white so we have better aging genetics than the average long island lobster, but we were met with hostility every time. In addition, we were glared at the entire time we were there trying to have a good time, as if we were exotic animals. Very weirded out by this experience. Dont come here if you love yourself

A rare creature - a consistently good restaurant on Fire Island.
Service is friendly and prompt.
Food is good to great based on your selection.
You won't go wrong dining here.

Terrible place if ur clearly from a different country made us wait 40min for food while people who arrived after us got served way quicker asked for a $60 tip when all they would do is give us nasty looks and ignore out questions and then we where waiting for out change and they took that 2 and surprisingly as soon as we leave everyone’s fixing the table awful place the food was mid 2

The food really hit the spot after a long hot day at the beach. My son said the fish tacos were awesome. I had the burger, which was really good and very filling. Service was friendly and very accommodating as we were a big party.

Great food, quick and friendly service and gives you that old school sailor/fisherman's hang out feel. Nostalgic to Fire Island, many beautiful old fashioned actual pics of the area framed inside, i love that kind of stuff ️

If this could be a zero it would be. Groups of teens with over 6 people beware cause there gonna scam you. In addition, I was with a group of 5 and they still charged us extra even though we were a group of 5. We ended up paying an extra 60 bucks in a tip that was automatically put in the total.

Great food, and atmosphere. Put the Albatross on your list of places to visit when in Ocean Beach Fire Island!

Food was not the best and very over priced. Service was terrible. The waitress barely came to our table and when she did she was rude. They messed up the bill and refused to fix it. When speaking to the manager she was very rude. Don’t recommend unless u want an unsatisfactory experience.

1 of 2 comments: for ambiance, very disappointed after being seated inside, next to bar 'dart board's with very load patrons, people smoking outside rear entry door with a large stand-up fan facing the bar with stink entering at our table, I went to close the door and the people politely moved. Not a nice Fire island experience. Keep the bar tables for the bar goers, not families with kids, definitely lost the fun fire island experience, outside dining seems nicer.
2 of 2 food: stay away from the Cajun wings as taste was like burnt old bay, yuck. Streamers were small, overpriced and nothing special, pasta dishes were okay in flavor and size but nothing worth returning for, burgers were undercooked, fish tacos were very good, and fries were good, house wine by glass was overpriced.

We love the Albatross! Many great menu choices, AND, rotating specials daily. This is not typical in Ocean Beach so we look forward to dining here and enjoying the food. Cocktails are delicious. As do most of the restaurants in Ocean Beach, this place turns into quite a bar scene with club music and a DJ after 10: 00 p.m. ️

We only ordered seafood dishes. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Clams and steamers are a must. Flounder sandwich was tasty. Clam chowder can be better. Staff is nice and friendly. Service was a tad slow but it's island time after all.

Food was mediocre at best and the service was awful. We had to ask multiple times for almost everything we needed and her attitude was poor. That being said, all that would have been fine had the waitress not included 20% gratuity in the bill which she definitely did not deserve. Gratuity is something to reflect the service that was received and 20% did not reflect the service, not to mention the prices are astronomical for what we got.

The food was okay but the service was not that good. The waiter didn't come to the table much. We had ask for water refill. The place was not even crowded. I felt they catered more to the local people. If I wanted a quick bite for a decent price I would probably go back otherwise there are plenty of other places on the island.

The service was great! I had the blackened grilled chicken sandwich with swiss and it was awesome! Definitely going back again before I leave.
