Ali's Roti Shop, Brooklyn NY

Their pumpkin is amazing. Their Roti is pretty good. Their lines are usually long though. Service is ok and prices are decent.

I have been going to Ali's for years now but I'm not sure what's going on with new management but food quality and wait time is terrible. On my last visit, I waited 45 mins to order my food with only 6 people on line. There are no prices listed in the restaurant but they have a QR code with the menu. I scanned the QR code and a boneless chicken buss up was listed as $14. Got to the register and was charged $3 dollars more for my roti. I asked about the price difference and was told the prices went up a while ago. If prices changed a while ago update your menu or remove the QR code! After paying $17 for a roti I was expecting the roti to be delicious. Sadly that was not the case, my roti was tasteless! Go here if you want a long wait, terrible and slow customer service and tasteless food.

I will never return!

Order the baked and salt fish, my mouth was on fire. The salt fish was extremely spicy and the bakes was oily which caused it to be very soft. It was my first time and I am not impressed!

Good food doesn't entitle you to be rude to customers, fail to greet them or to be distracted- talking on the phone while serving them. Also have a system in place, the wait is too long.

Service on Utica Ave = horrendous! NEED TO HIRE MORE STAFF! Waited 40mins on line (a line of 5 people in front of me). Only one girls was making food.meanwhile the cashier lady was doing nothing (well.mopping the floor/on her iPad) while the end of the line was out the door.

FOOD! Dry roti and potatoes. Beef was super hard and tough. Barely any sauce. No food prices anywhere.doesn’t match door dash prices.hmmm.

I’m unsure how this place has so many reviews but I won’t be a returning costumer.

Had to wait at least 30 minutes or more with 5 people in front of me before I could get in to place my order.
2 chicken rotis cost $12 each totalling $24. Four people are allowed in the store due to COVID19.

The service is extremely slow and the food is not worth the wait. The roti bread was not as fresh as I have had in the past nd the chicken was kind of dry. It needed more gravy.

The roti is OK. Think I had too much. Now I experience Nausea just by the sight of this restaurant. Anyway the tamarind sauce on potatoes is it.

Food is good but the service is definitely NOT. If just based on the food I would give 4 stars but in my experience, I've never gotten good service here. Do better ladies!

The lady who helped me Friday October 1st 7: 13pm was horrible complete, the customer service experience for food which is decent at best i don’t know if the lady was having a bad day or what but don’t let that translate to someone who is just buying two rotis I will advise everyone to go to any other trini spot besides here the food is getting lack luster while the prices are raising and the employees is slow and bad attitude. All started because she didn’t want to give any tambrin sauce

Terrible staff.dry unfriendly with stinking attitude.no customer service and act as if someone is begging for something.will never go back to that establishment at 337 Utica ave.not even if my life’s’ depending on it.no stars for common courtesy and 2 stars for food.

You know if I trek all the way from the Bx to BK, these rotis MUST be good!

My favorite is the conch. Normally conch is too chewy and I won't eat it. The way Ali's prepares it is just right! I love it! Running a close second is the curry shrimp. You can't go wrong with either of the them. The flavors/seasoning are phenomenal!

The roti is always generously packed-no skimping here. I hate when you're all geared up for a roti and there's more wrap than anything else. Just be prepared to wait in line because the secret is out (and sometimes so is the line out the door). Ali's has the best rotis in NYC!

I bought a goat roti 2 weeks ago it was delicious. Today I went back to buy a goat roti after 7pm. It was all done. Ordered a chicken roti the lady with short hair who served me put 3 pieces of potatoes. Chicken had no sauce. So dry. I know the rotis are good but her serving me was horrible. I know longer want to be served by her.

Great food. Good potions. Nice selection. The line is out the door on the Saturday I was there. Some workers are friendly, others are not. You typically expect a thank you, but it's the city I suppose. Doesnt really excuse courteous treatment towards your patrons

Too expensive. Patiently waiting for Ali’s on Fulton & Nostrand to reopen. They have much better prices and better roti skins.

The food is good. Unfortunately for a business in 2021 to put up a sign on their door for months “CASH ONLY. Our system is down. Sorry for the inconvenience” is pretty disingenuous and dishonest. They need to get into this era and just change that sign to just CASH ONLY, without that empty explanation. The food is worth it.
