Allentown Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine reviews
19As a first time mom, I took choosing a Doctor's office for my son very seriously. Allentown Pediatrics came highly recommended from several of my friends and now I can see why. My son is currently 6 months old and I cannot say enough good things about the care he has received (and about the staff here!)! Our first appointment was with NP, Anna Couell- who is absolutely FANTASTIC! She is SO incredibly genuine and clearly has a love for the work that she does- and it really shows! Our subsequent appointments have mostly been with Anna and I have zero complaints! Anna always makes us feel comfortable and she takes time to meet with and listen to us- that means a lot to parents, especially us "newbies"! Highly recommend this practice!
We have been patients here for over 6 years, and have always received excellent care! Dr. Elhenfeld, Dr. Conley, Mary Shepard & many of the wonderful nurses have seen our kiddos through many scary illnesses & injuries. One of the scariest things to experience as a parent is when your child is sick or hurt, and we have always felt supported by Allentown Peds! Quick call backs (almost always by the Docs themselves), readily-available appointments for sick-visits, clear advice, calming & comforting demeanors for both kids & parents (I think we often need it more!) We have always felt empowered, respected, and listened to, plus all of the staff treat our children like people, and makes a sincere effort to connect with them and build a loving connection. We will be here for years to come, and only wish they could be our doctors too!
There nice if your child is “normal”. My son has issues and was in a group home and they treated the kids from there terribly. No compassion whatsoever.
For this to be a pediatrician practice they run it more like a business and they only care about money. They are very pushy and unrealistic. What type of practice does not have a grace period for an infant appointment? Not accommodating at all! What if I would of taken the bus? Also they denied to give me my child’s medical records unbelievable I will be reporting them.
All of our three children are under the care of this office. Recently, our 3-year-old came home at 5: 30 pm from pre-school and aftercare (same place) with a terrible 3/4" cut down the middle of her tiny nose. Dr. Ehlenfield called me right back after hours and determined that she needed to go to the emergency room immediately. When we got to the Children's Hospital ER, the lady at the check-in counter told us that they were expecting us because Dr. Ehlenfield had called and notified them in advance of our visit. We didn't even have to take out our health insurance card because everything was done for us already! Our daughter got three stitches. We were sad about her injury but felt very well-cared for by Dr. Ehlenfield. We also love Dr. Conley very, very much. She has been caring for our 3-year-old like she is her own. Dr. Raiken is our older daughter's physician. She detected her scoliosis early on, so we could get the needed care for her before her condition got worse. We are really grateful for the attentive and competent doctors of this practice! Early detection, effective prevention, and immediate care are key. Thank you all.
Wonderful practice. Great location for Allentown, Elmwood Village, and Downtown. Dr. Conley saw my daughter for 4 years while we lived in Buffalo. She was always caring and took time to answer our questions. The staff are all patient with kids and delivered pain free shots! They also always ran on time. We always had a great experience. We only left the practice because we moved out of town and would refer any friend.
We could not have chosen a better pediatrician for our son. He's been going there since he was born, and we see Dr. Conley. Dr. Conley is so nice and easy to talk to, and give us great care and advice. We've seen the other doctors in the practice when Dr. Conley is not available, and they are perfectly wonderful as well. Smart, fast, concise, and kind. I highly recommend Allentown Pediatrics if you are about to have/adopt a baby or are looking to switch. Two thumbs way up!
I agree with you chance. Dr Raiken is very rude and she was my son's pediatrician I refuse to see her now. It's always what she wants and now. No choice to do what I want with my son. The one receptionist with the glasses white woman older is rude. She told me I had a no show even though I was at the hospital with my son who mind you had 4 seizures that day and was admitted into the hospital. We are currently looking for another pediatric care.
We see Dr. Conely, she is amazing! We never feel rushed or unheard, she's absolutely great with the kids, they love her too!
Allentown pediatrics is great. The administration team, is friendly compassionate, and helpful. Dr. Connelly is the best, patient and kind. So glad we found this place.
Even after moving out of the city, we still bring our kids here- the care they receive is excellent! Dr. Conley and her staff are excellent- very caring, informative and willing to spend time with each patient. When kids are sick they are easy to get into the office to be seen, even if it is with another provider. They always have very quick call backs for after hours calls also. At two different times, my kids have received quick, pain-free immunizations form the nursing staff without crying!
I recieved a letter telling me that my child would no longer be cared for by her pediatrician because we missed 2 appointments. One was recent but the other one was over a year ago. Unfortunately we missed that appointment because we had to leave the city seeking refuge in a domestic violence shelter. They were totally unsympathetic of our circumstances. They then stated that they would continue to care for my other 2 children but my daughter would have to be seen elsewhere. As if i would be ok with that. No way im pulling all 3 of my children from that clinic immediately.
Since moving to the Buffalo area and reading about Dr. Ehlenfield on a mom's blog, we have been exceedingly happy. They care for all three of my boys. They are always available for sick visits. I have found each provider to be very open and willing to take the time to assess, listen and work with you. Mary Sheppard is amazing with my teen! I wouldn't recommend another office. We drive 25 min to get here and it's always worth it.
No waiting. They take you in at appointment time. Dr. Raiken has helped my son with ADHD greatly.
Deborah Raiken has a horrible bedside manner. You're an idiot to her if you question anything she says. Now they also have taken away the rights of parents choice. So, you either do the schedule or you are kicked out or njo longer accepted.
My kids love it there. They've been seeing dr. Ehlenfield even before he had his own office, back when he was on main st at mosher medical.
There not all that great.they seem phony as hell. Dr Reiken always passive aggressive and basically goes by the books not genuine at all or helpful
I love this practice! Dr. D. Raiken has been my children physician since 1982 and now her & Dr. Ellenfield are the pediatricians of my grandchildren. God Bless You All For Wonderful Services rendered to my family!
Excellent doctors in quiet upscale area of Buffalo. Dr. Ehlenfield, is very knowledgeable and cares about his patients. I've been taking my daughter to his practice for years.
