Wouldn't stay there again. The rooms are dirty. The bathroom shower drain is clogged and fills while showering.

Upon arrival.instead of been welcome, a old & tired Security staff approached us and and introduced himself as a retired police officer and kept following us both in the patio and throughout the reception.

I do NOT recommend this place of obvious reasons.

You are better of checking in any of the numerous hotels in the area

Cons: We paid almost $300 a night. There is no microwave in the room. The refrigerator is tiny and barely worked. It's about the size of a beer refrigerator you can only fit one take out container comfortably. The rooms are grimey. This is not something that housekeeping can remedy. This hotel needs a deep clean. Carpets and bathroom tiles had years of dust on them. The water pressure was trash. There are no duvet covers just a duvet sandwiched between two flat sheets and tucked in in the sides. No shelving or hooks in the bathroom to place toiletries or wash cloths. The heating / AC unit had trash shoved between the slats.

Pros: Great proximity to the Apollo. A lot of shopping within walking distance. A lot of bakeries and other great restaurants within walking distance. Great proximity to uptown in terms of Ubers or public transportation. On average it was about 20 minutes on the subway or 25 to 30 in an Uber.

We were in town for an event less than a mile away and this hotel was a great find. It was not cheap but beat out similar hotels on price, including some less convenient to our event.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and decent-sized for Manhattan.

Overall a nice hotel.however I believe that some things need to be done here.

-Rooms definitely need a deep clean. The carpet in the room was somewhat filthy, and there was a reasonable amount of debris on the tile floor in the bathroom.

-Some of the appliances need improvements. The desk lamp in my room (523) was hanging by a wire and would often flicker. Mini-fridge also barely worked, and I couldn't eat certain foods I wanted to save because the fridge barely worked, and went bad by the next day.

-Basic toiletries were also lacking in major ways. Soap bar we got was already used by previous visitor, and the shampoo and conditioner in the shower was pretty much empty.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends, however I believe there are some changes that need to be made around the hotel.

Decent hotel for price in NYC. I had no problems with crime however was warned to stay away from Morningside park at night, and not to walk from Columbia to here at night.
I didn’t see anything exciting in lobby- all those reviews are pre-pandemic.

The staff are very kind and professional. They made me feel welcome. The room was very clean. Beds comfortable. Room was bigger than I would have thought for NYC. Thank you!

I didnt stay. But i was charged 645.00 then 331.00 after cancelling my reservation. No one there seems to know why. Took them almost 2 weeks to refund my money. Then sent me a made up receipt to justify the charges. Called ALOFT HARLEM and got the rudest supervisor. Talked to 4 different people. Dont want to give their names when asked. Just a hot mess. They dont return phone calls or messages. Filed formal complaint for them to be investigated.

This hotel isn’t bad!

The hotel is in what my parents call a “bad neighbourhood”. My dad claims a co-worker of his once said there used to be a gunshot a day there, but now is better with a gunshot every couple of days. I personally do not think that’s true. The hotel is not bad, it’s clean enough for me to be able to sleep, has two beds, and has a mini fridge, safe, and washroom in your room. This might only be a thing about my room (415) but the washroom and the bedroom were kinda all blended together leading to a lack of privacy.

The washroom doesn’t have one room to itself more like the entry area with the sliding door to a shower and toilet. Another thing is the lights, I didn’t know how to turn off the lights over the bed and I didn’t wanna wake up anyone so I used the washroom in the dark…

Anyways, it meets all my requirements of not too hard of a bed, and has two beds, which are low expectations but they are mine lol.

The price was alittle more than it needed to be. I know New York can be pricey, but not a hotel in Harlem. It costed me twice to be in a hotel room here than in a hotel off on Times Square which was very ridiculous expensive.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean, functional and comfortable, except the bed which was quite firm. The room and bathroom were large especially for NYC standards. The location is great, just around the corner from the Apollo theater. A lot of shopping choices. Valet parking very convenient. Has a nice bar that offers bar food but I did not visit.

Awesome service's. I enjoy every moment here. Ms. Vern Cole delivered to me an unbelievable experience, I was stunned to such great services rendered. I will by no doubt revisit this place again in the near future.
