Great service, atmosphere. The pasta was delicious, I got the parpardelle with mushrooms and my husband got the ink pasta with shrimp and zucchini. A little overpriced for pasta but it is the upper east side.

First time in a while I really considered returning the dish. Pasta was so raw with texture comprable to half-cooked instant ramen.

My wife and I just moved into NYC. We are trying different places and tonight we decided to try Altesi.

Food was A+ (prepared to perfection),
Service was A+ (All staff were very attentive),
Atmosphere was A (back patio door was kept open too many times which brought in the cold). But overall, a great atmosphere for a cozy and quiet conversational place.

Overall - highly recommend this great place. Looking forward to meeting th owner on our next visit.

Service is amazing. Staff really polite and friendly. The owner was so sweet with my friend and I. Food is delicious, like I was back in Italy.

We absolutely love Altesi. We have been coming here since they opened about 4 years ago and it is always great experience. We love the food, atmosphere and ambience. The staff and the owner Paolo are very friendly and accommodating and they always make a sure everything is perfect for their patrons. We highly recommend Altesi to everyone looking for authentic Italian food served in style.

From my social media postings, Facebook, Twitter. France-Michele (my wife and former fashion reporter for the NY Post) had lunch today at Altesi, a new Italian restaurant on 64th St at Madison Ave. Lunch was ruined because Ivana Trump sat next to us with her dog which she even let climb to the table. I told her no dogs allowed but she lied that hers was a service dog. It is illegal and it made the meal unpleasant so avoid Altesi until the NO DOGS rule is applied.

The first thing that attracted me was the warmth that this restaurant exudes. Smiling faces greet you upon arrival. The food was great and the service was eager to meet our needs. Would definitely recommend this place for a stop if your in the upper midtown area. As a bonus, Central Park is right down the street for a nice after lunch stroll.

The most delicious italian food uptown.the nicest staff.and i am SO obsessed with the fried artichokes "roman jewish style" that my mouth is watering just thinking about them.the salads are all super delicious and - i'm paleo so i haven't had the pasta - but my friends RAVE about the ravioli with sage and pistachios.it's just delicious!

This place is hidden a bit but LOVELY.it was perfect for a quiet afternoon stop.we had a nice bottle of wine and the Burrata special and also the calamari app. It was so tasty! I will go back if and when I am in this neighborhood again. The bread and hummus dip provided was excellent as well.

The food was excellent, I'll be going back again.

We had boycotted Altesi, and were "dragged" there last night by 4 friends who are regulars and we are NEWLY CONVERTED. The young woman who seemed to be one of the owners and took our order was sensational. Staff was first rate, and really nice. I had the avacado soup then broiled salmon served on a bed of asparagus & peas then a cheese plate. All really terrific. And the seating was comfortable. And it wasn't over crowded. We'll be back.d

Great restaurant and brilliant service. Friendly atmosphere. I have been to Italy on numerous occasions and is difficult to find authentic Italian cuisine here. I had fried calamari.pasta and sea food platter.followed by the most amazing tiramisu.a delight. Prices reflect the prime location but the quality is paramount. Overall - highly recommended!

A hidden gem on the upper east side. Milanese is particularly good but the tiramisu is the highest point, easily one of the best in town.

Very, very nice. Great food, great wine, great location and expecially exceptional food. Forget about the negative reviews. People tend to be a pain these days. No sights of bugs in the wine, by the way. Go for the duck and octopuss. No mistake.

My second time here. First was lunch, this time dinner. Doesn’t get crowded. They don’t really advertise on Yelp. I only knew of this place because someone brought me to them. Fantastic food and moderately priced for the city. Unique location for a spot on the UES. Normal potion size and for a table of 7 we all started with a cocktail and polished off two bottles of wine and the bill was under $100 per person including tip. Below thay have a lobster and white truffle appetizer. Yum.

Quiet, pretty, reasonable prices. A niche restaurant a bit higher end than the more well-known Italian places around, but more elegant and subdued than a regular Italian neighborhood place

It was our first time at Altesi and everyone loved it. My friend organized her birthday lunch there. They accommodate us in the garden. The ambience, décor and weather couldn’t be better for her special day. Each of 6 girlfriends order different appetizer and I must say all of them were divined. For the main course we also had variety of the dishes. I had fantastic chicken salad with beets, avocado and tomatoes. The chicken was perfectly done, crispy outside and nice and juicy inside. Another winner was lasagna with veal ragu and branzino accompanied with tarragon aioli. For the dessert I had fantastic chocolate soufflé. The service was attentive and very professional. I am so happy we found this place and I cannot fait to be back there.
